never great sandwich, delicious pastry, fresh olive bread, great dining experience, quite good salads, love local neighborhood breakfast place, nice waitresswaiters
I Love This Place!. I've been going here for a couple of years and absolutely love the croissants. The coffee is very good. Get there early on the weekends or else parking is rough.
Authentic french bread. Great selection of authentic french bread : fresh rustic bread, french baguette, pain de mie... that they slice for you. Their croissants, chocolate croissants and brioches are also amazing. Food is ok. It's better to order the bread from them a couple of days before big holidays since they are usually out of stock really fast.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Situated between Cedars-Sinai and Robertson Boulevard is where you'll find this cozy soup-salad-sandwich boutique from French owner/chef Eric Kayser. The small, loft-like space features arched ceilings and glass walls that look out onto Third Street while a long counter and display case presents the day's offerings of pastries, desserts and, of course, all manner of bread (homemade fig, walnut or crusty whole grain, to name a few). The Parisian-leaning menu also has standards like nicoise salads and brie sandwiches, perfect to enjoy along the modest sidewalk patio.
Bread Craft. Loved the Grilled Free-Range Chicken with the GOLDEN WEST CURCUMA BUN!! The server was friendly and the atmosphere was simple and casual. Plus learned a bit about artisanal bread craft! :)
Good food but service less than desirable. You know when you want to love your local neighborhood breakfast place? I so wanted Bread Bar to be THAT place. Although the food is good, the service consistently disapoints.
authentic french bread.
The bread and the croissants are awesome.
Their brioche and cheese bread is worth the trip! Everything I tried so far is GREAT, servers are friendly.
Cool Cozy spot!. The pastries here are definitley the best I've ever had outside of Paris - so I used to just call in on Saturday morning and pick up some nice stuff for the weekend - but recently I actually stopped in for lunch with a friend and it was one of the nicest places I've been for a meal for ages. The service was really personable and friendly, our waiter seemd happy to be there, which makes a nice change. The food! I had a really really good brushetta appetizer - quite different, and the sweet potato fries that came with my ahi burger were soooo good! I would totally recommend this place
Food Amazing, they use all Quality Ingredients!!.
I had lunch today at the Bread Bar in Century City!
Wow, what an experience!
Patrice the Manager was so friendly and made sure we had a great dining experience!
The service was friendly and efficient, the quality of food is so good for the price!
I Highly recommend this restaurant!
You HAVE to try the OLIVE Bread, so fresh and tasty!
Delish!. Came here Saturday morning for breakfast with my sister. We ordered french toast, bleuberry danish, iced latte, and ice capuccino. The french toast came with two thcik slices of pain de mie bread, whipped cream, fresh berries, and maple syrup. It ws really goooooood. It filled both of us quite well so we saved the blueberry danish for later. After eating we purchased a variety of breads such as multigrain loaf, cheesetwist, hazelnut roll, croissants, rhubarb tart, etc...we got a little overboard but it was all worth it. The blueberry danish was the best I have ever had. It had a lot of blueberries sitting on custard cream and the pastry was so delicious. The croissants were not greasy. The multigrain loaf was loaded with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, flax, grains, etc... The hazelnut loaf had a lot of hazelnuts. The bread had a nice crust outside and a nice chewy center. The rhubard tart was not too sweet. Basically everything was good. I use to do my bread shopping at La Brea but I will be switching to Bread Bar from now on.
Worst service in town?. Thank goodness for the great food or my experience at Bread Bar would have been a total disaster. Here's the story -2 friends and I had lunch on Saturday. The food was very good, and the management couldn't have been nicer, as we had several conversations with them. That's the extent of good news. Our waitress (if she still works there after Saturday needs to find a new career) took our order - 3 waters, 1 cap, 1 latte, 1coffee plus lunch. 10 minutes later we called her over to remind her about the waters and coffee. 20 minutes later we got a busboy to bring us water. 30 minutes later we called the waitress over again to remind her about the coffees. No explanation, no I'm sorrry, just a blank look as she walked away. THIRTY FIVE minutes later I lost my cool and walked up to the counter and asked if there was a manager. I complained about the waitress and asked how long does it take to get a cup of coffee? A nice guy who seemed to be in charge said that they were slammed with customers and that 2 people did not show up to work, so it was a little crazy. Finally, an answer. Was it too much to think that the waitress might apologize and/or offer some explanation?!? The manager brought our coffees on the house with a free pastry. Another guy who identified as a manager came over and apologized and said that our waitress was new. (Do they may send wait staff into the trenches without training on customer service?) I observed that these guys were also bringing free pastries and apologizing to 2 neighboring tables served by our waitress. When she brought our lunch, I was never offered a coffee refill, never asked if we need more water, was the food okay, did we need anything. She couldn't have been more absent. It may be the first time that I did not leave a tip. Even when service is bad, I leave something. But I could not in good conscious leave our server anything. Despite management doing their best to make things better, I won't be back.
Sloooooooowww.
I went there for lunch with my husband. Parking is bad, so valet. Got a table outside. The place was busy, but not crazed. Service is HORRIBLE!!! It took 20 minutes for our drinks to come out. Then 45 minutes more for the food to come out - ofcourse the order was messed up. Our waitress was so flighty and weird.
The food was GREAT. The fries are delicious-they put some sort of light pesto sauce on top. The bread is great. Too bad the service is so bad. probably wont return
