As we drove into entrance we were very happy with the friendliness of the staff. Even I had to wait a little longer than I thought I should the staff was attentive when it was my turn. The Bellman waited patiently with our bags and delivered them to our room while we left to walk on the Riverwalk and to eat dinner. The Bellman took care of our daughter’s stuffed animal and made sure to her that he would. I read the unfortunate episode about the theft, that can happen anywhere and all should take care of valuables. It did heighten our awareness but we had no problems. I ended up getting the flu in the middle of the trip and their beds are comfortable to be in all day!
Pros: Easy access to Riverwalk
Cons: If there is an event the main restaurant shuts down

I travel frequently around the country and Europe and found Hotel Contessa very mediocre. The hotel itself looked nice but service was slow. The most disappointing part of the stay at Contessa was the theft of several articles. I am sure this doesn't reflect on everyone there but it will prevent me from staying there again or recommending the hotel as this has never happened to me before at any hotel. Bryan Dawson
