This rapidly upscaling port town's beautifully renovated venue will boast the San Diego Opera, rated among the top ten in the country, this Friday, October 19th, 2007, thanks to the diligent efforts (and some surprising connections) of the "make it happen" people behind "triple 'w' dot" polahs "dot" net We're hoping that you'll join us. As the step parent of a growing high school student (who seems to be as surprised as we are at the fact that he now actually wants to go to school), we are delighted (but not surprised) at the quality of pretty much everything that has been coming out of the Port of Los Angeles charter school. This Friday evening's performance, on the school's behalf, will see an evening featuring a recital of arias and ensembles from such favorites as La Bohème, Rigoletto, Don Pasquale and other classic operas. At a time when the 'powers that be' are hemming and hawing about releasing promised funds to charter schools, this amazing group of people have gone out of their way to not only pull off a fund-raiser with extraordinary class, but they have acted with that same class in developing an educational setting where some student testing now outperforms that of every school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. I took guitar lessons here. My instructor was knowledgeable and assessed my abilities well. He then went on to teach me according to what I wanted to learn in terms of style and skills. I always felt comfortable and like I was progressing from lesson to lesson. I highly recommend this school to anyone thinking about music lessons or continuing their music education.
Pros: Nice Clean facility, Qualified Instuctors, Great Pricing
