Really great shop!!
by oliveoiled
So we all know how nerve racking it is to pick a tattoo place. I mean, we are getting crap put on us that is gonna be there for everyone to see practically forever. I've been to different places here in Cali and in TX and this place, True Tattoo, has been the best one. Great shop, nice and clean, approachable people. The hot towel thing they do after is painful, but so awesome. Tyson does really great work, clean lines, I always get compliments. I would highly recommend going here if you are unsure of where to go.
Soultastic!

Jeff is an exceptional artist who knows how to tune in to his clients on a spiritual and 'soul' level. Her work is impeccable. My piece on my arm is simply stunning
One of the best there is

So I had got this big piece of art covering my arm and the artist(D'mon) spent 4-5 hours each sitting for about 4 days.It takes a lot of patience as I had a lot of detail done, getting middle eastern art which is not even his specialty, and he still worked out an amazing piece.I have had a tattoo done before in Miami which is special in its own right but doesn't compare to what I got here.I would go there again to get a full back work done.Only complaint is good tattoos are addictive,if you get a good piece of art you want to get more!
Also the hot towel thing which they use is awesome. It immediately kills all bacteria, even though it pains a whole ton.Patent it guys!
- Pros: they know their art, thats all i want
- Cons: using of saran wrap instead of bandage
form your opinion on what you know!!!

i used to live in LA but have moved out of state and i can tell you that i will never go to any other artist again. i will always come back to jeff page he has done both my arms with my boys names hidden in vines (first one while at another shop and then i followed him to true) and now i have a third child and i tell you i will fly back to cali to have jeff connect the vines across my back to my arms because he is a great artist. now i can not speak for the knuckles guy i dont know about it or his tattoo all i am saying is my own experiance. you CAN NOT judge a whole shop off of one tattoo, only the artist and the knuckles guy know what happened so for all the haters that form an opinion off of other peoples experiance is just stupid so relax and only write about what you know not what you hear or read. what i have seen from this shop is all good but that is my opinion not yours!!! jeff page is a great artist!!!
The place I go to when I'm in LA
by richmond67
I spent a few days at True Tattoo while in town on buisness,I saw this thread while looking for the adress and,(I've been tattooed for over 200 hours in the last 20 years so i know my way around the tattoo buisness) thought now that I've been to True a few times.. I'd put in my two cents.. I could go on and on about how clean the shop is and cool the guys are but I digress..There are basically two types of people who get thier knuckles tattooed..A: those who have run out of room on the rest of thier bodies and B.bad- a$$ motherfuckers(or wanna bes) who are trying to make a statement, so if you walk into a busy tattoo shop without an appointment (remember kiddies a busy tattooer is a good thing, unless he's busy selling a bong or adjusting his facial piercings)and man up and ask for knuckle tattoos the artist might respect your decision to join that club, and not take the time to hold your hand and explain every aspect of the endeavor. You only actually pay for the time it takes to do the tattoo, the time drawing the design and setting up and cleaning after, and the "consultation time" is all provided by the artist so if you are indecisive or picky I hope you tip well.. I found Will"the Butcher of Cahuenga"Card (ps. he says thanks for the nickname it looks great on his new buisness card) hard at work slaughtering fools and would get my knuckles tattooed by him but I'm still not sure if I'm a bad-a$$..While you consider the relationship between alcohoI and tattoo, I suggest you take a look at a book called New York City Tattoo or similar and you will find the american tattoo tradition ripe with whiskey bottles and fistfights.. drunken sailors and the drunker guys who had to tattoo them, and the people who carry on the tradition today ..far tamer by comparison..aren't usually the types who follow too many of societies little rules and I like it that way,its not brain surgery people..if it was you wouldn't go to "OTHER BRAIN SURGERY SHOP" who said they could do it cheaper....get real..
- Pros: seahorses seashells and things with seashells on them
- Cons: stupid dresses stupid flowers
