favorite place, great shows, great many supertalented people

There is almost always a line outside of the theater before one of their improv shoes. I sat on the floor which was fine but I recommend trying to get a seat. It was a lot of fun.
This might be one of my favorite places in Los Angeles EVER. The comedy shows are usually $5 and you usually get a chance to see some of the top comedians in the world test out material.

Great improv/sketch/acting school and comedy venue. Great and wallet friendly shows every day of the week too!
For a fun night of improv or theater UCB is where it's at. Tickets are a hot comodity and the lines are long, but worth it. You'll laugh so hard your face will be sore by the time you leave.
Pleased. This is a wonderful place to catch a show. I sat in the back the first time and had a pleasant experience even though I was so far back. It?s almost like there isn?t a bad seat in the place! Obviously the front was much more enjoyable because I love being up close but this was a great theatre nonetheless
Fun Times with Fun People. For laughs that cost you next to nothing, the UCB theatre in Hollywood has you covered. From special guests to group improv performances, this comedy theatre group has it covered. It is however very small and shows tend to sell quick so make resrevations early. And if you see Aaron Mullenix on stage for improv performances, you will see the makings of a true comedic genius and soon to be legend. Enjoy!
Citysearch Editorial Review. Talk about cheap laughs. This hotbed of humor offers some of the best comedy shows in town, none of which will cost you more than $8. Curb Your Enthusiasm's Jeff Garlin hosts a weekly $1 show on Sundays with guests like Patton Oswalt and Aziz Anzari as well as improv and sketches. Cash in on the fun by reserving your spot in advance (many shows sell out early) and feel free to BYOB--it won't cost you any extra.
Inexpensive comedy in Los Angeles. Went to check out the Jeff Garlin combo platter last night. What a fun inexpensive way to spend a Sunday. It was Jeff and a couple of other comedians with him. It only cost $1 to get it, which you can't beat. I would suggest making reservations, as it was pouring rain last night and it was a packed house. Also, Jeff passes out to the audience all the crap swag he no longer wants in his house, one mans trash is an another mans treasure. You could come out of there with something cool, but if not. It was definitely worth the price of admission.
Awesome and Cheap Place to See Comedy in LA!. Upright Citizens Brigade is my favorite place to see comedy in LA. From Jeff Garlin's (of Curb Your Enthusiasm) weekly $1 show with guests like Patton Oswalt and Aziz Anzari to their hilarious improv & sketch shows, UCB always has a cheap and thoroughly entertaining lineup. Bring cash (make reservations in advance on their site since a lot of shows sell out early) and your own booze for a low budget night high on laughs.
