House of Petals - what are they thinking? – I met with Charity (exec director) & Jesse (lead designer) for a bridal bouquet & boutonniere. I was upfront that I was probably not going to order much more from them since I spent so much on everything else. My first mistake was giving them my credit card number upfront. They made an unauthorized charge to my credit card for an unexplainable amount but couldn't figure out "how it could've happened." Hmm... At the wedding, I saw the monochromatic red bouquet in my bridal room & gushed over it. But later I saw the boutonniere - it was PURPLE. I was so happy & stress-free that I didn't let it bother me. After the wedding, I called as a courtesy to let them know that the delivery person must have given us someone else's boutonniere. I was disappointed but not angry. I asked Jesse about my "plum" (as he calls it) boutonniere. He said he'd look into it and call me back. 3 days went by, no call. I called at least 3 additional times trying to reach Charity this time & each time was told she'd be in "shortly" but she never was. Hmm... I left a message with my number but still no return call. All I wanted was a "sorry for the mix up." I trusted them on an important occasion & not only did they let me down, they didn't think it was important to take/return my call.
I finally got a hold of Charity via email - 8 days later. She tried to explain away the delay & tell me how I had changed from red to burgundy - which I did not plus they sent purple, etc. Finally I received the apology I wanted and a big, fat refund of $24! I wonder if my famous photographer will Photoshop all the photos for $24! ;) I'm glad to have received an apology but I wish it wasn't so hard to get one.
I find it extremely entertaining that there are several glowing reviews after mine, 3 by people who have only 1 review. I'll humor them & give them 2 stars. Unfortunately, everyone will see House of Petals mistake in my photos - photos that will appear in public places. Keep an eye out for it. :)
Avoid at all costs! – Poor customer service. Flowers are nice but don't count on this place for anything ever. Overpriced as well. Look elsewhere and you will find the same quality with exceptional service.
House of Petals...... – It was my daughter's 21st on Sunday (yesterday) and I wanted something special. I wanted something more than the usual interflora type of florist shop arrangement.
I looked through many InStyle recommendations and many online shops, until finally seeing 'House of Petals' I loved their webpage and based on all the research -I had read through the reviews on here and noticed a few negative ones but, the positives outweighed them....and plus it is a sort of creation- an artistic interpretation and so if one has ONLY been used to say ,Conroys Flowers or some mass produced bouquet of carnations in cellophane- it may seem out of sync with what a person expects in an arrangement.....:)
I called and told them I was on a budget ..(In other words I worked hard to make this money and wasn't a celebrity) I also told them I was going on good faith based on the reviews and even if one of the negatives was correct then, by telling the company, it is only fair and gives them a chance to be better every time....
They were very receptive-very nice- took all my information and even though the area I wanted them delivered to was a bit outside their area .......they did it!! Thank you House of Petals!
I got a call from my daughter- 21 at university- and 21 year olds are very savvy....
"Mummie the flowers you sent are the most beautiful I have ever seen. They are so unusual- " and she went on to describe them- she told me how they were arranged- how great the scent was(the latter thrilled me because countless times now one can buy flowers that are devoid of all scent)
I can't tell you how great this experience has been for me( well I am telling:) and want to thank all of you involved for making my daughter's birthday arrangement so beautiful...Thanks AnjelaW

Love the art – I love the arrangements and style house of petals produces. I read the other reviews and some simply are lacking all reason. I did spend a pretty penny for the arrangement i ordered but the money was well spent. The arrangement i recieved was new and exciting, not an old grandmother arrangement you might get any place else. The arrangement was a success and my mother was grateful. The arrangement lasted as long as any cut flower arrangement should. I just put that in there because of a review i read. If you want a arrangement to live and thrive buy a tree and plant it.
Was good, but now falls short – UPDATED 12/2006 - I originally defended this business against the previous poor review. Sad to say that after a few more experiences, I found the same situation. Too bad!
Ridiculous attitude and RIPOFF prices – $100 for one stem of orchids and some rocks. One flower! WHAT A RIPOFF! And attitude. They simply DON'T DO arrangements for under $100. Clearly, the actress/model/FLOWER-SELLER on the phone does not want to deal with someone who might not (or might, oh ignorant one) be able to help her still-stalled movie career. The delivery was late, too; probably a latte deficiency. I don't know who is posting the raves about this place, but I relied on them and got ripped off. I could have gotten a better arrangement with less attitude and a lower price at Ralph's, and still had enough to buy a nice bottle of Veuve.
above and beyond! – I called them later in the day for a client of mine who wanted to surprise his girlfriend. House of Petals went above and beyond the call of duty to get a gorgeous arrangement together and deliver it within the hour. Every other service turned me down -- even places I've previously given thousands of dollars of business to. I cannot recommend them any higher.
Great Couture Arrangements! – After searching through the mundane flower arrangements that most flower shops have to offer I was delighted to stumble across House of Petals. The arrangement I chose was beautifully and artistically arranged. On top of that, the flowers have now lasted for 5 days! My husband was delighted with the arrangement since it wasn't too girlie and more artistic looking. The customer service was extremely impressive. Both the designer and delivery man were courteous and very helpful. They also took my last minute delivery which was a real life saver. House of Petals has become my official flower shop!
