great new place, great music, great specialty drinks, super friendly staff, favorite new bar, beautiful people, great dark atmosphere
Fantastic Russian Dive. I heard their Vodka drinks were expensive but hefty so I dropped in on a random Monday. The front room is all it's been said to be. Very much like an old diner. The drinks are insane though! $20 for a specialty drink, but it was worth it.. I was knocked off my feet with just the one. I liked that I really got my money's worth. I heard about the back, "Red Room" too. I guess they do little shows back there or something- it was $5 to get in, but the music was worth it. I saw three musicians and walked away with a CD. Not bad for a Monday night. I was told some of the people I liked are regular performers there which was nice. I hate going to a place, seeing the person once then having to get on an email list to follow them. I prefer just hitting up the same bar or whatever to check out good music. Acts I saw that night that I liked: Danielle Taylor, Shandi Matthews, and Jason Young. Parking is a little tough so beware, but on the whole I give this place 4 outta 5 stars. Great Monday night hang out.
My fav local.
Good selection of drinks, nice crowd but please loose the door man. for me its the perfect local bar. Control the dress code if you must but please dont be Hollywood with it.

Bar Lubitsch.
I came here the night of my birthday, well the night before my birthday, because my birthday was on a Sunday and who wants to go out on a Sunday night and fear being hungover on a Monday? Anywhoo, I came here October 2nd, don't know why its taken so long for my review to be written!
The last couple times I have been here, I never knew there was a back room! WTF?! Why had I not known this?? Now it makes sense how there are so many reviews for this place? Otherwise, I would just think yeah its a cool small bar.
This place has good music, not the typical top 40's type. I heard some MSTRKRFT and even a Deadmau5 song! Woo hoo!!
I feel like the bar is split into two different sub bars, the back room is a more sensual style and is where booties are shaking and the beats are beating! The main bar reminds me of a bar in a lobby of a hotel somehow.
The bartenders are great even when it's crowded. They have many a vodkas to choose from, including Tito's! Their signature drinks are great as well, I remember we got a few Moscow Mules. Veddy Veddy Good!
Yeah the people who come here can seem like the typical Hollywood crew, but they arent as bad as the places on Hollywood Blvd. There is a giant mashup of different varieties of people here, and it makes for the drunken conversation to be much better! I chatted it up with a couple of promoters who were there celebrating their friends birthday as well, and then with a hippy couple. I love it.
I love you Lubitsch
Awesome entertainment.
Saw Lisa Zane who appears there on Monday nights.
Awesome crowd!
Lisa Zane the singer I saw, transforms the room with her passion and tales of love and loss . I was reminded of all those gorgeous full throated ladies of torch from all over the world. But then! I found out most of the music was written and composed by her. The evening was completely unrefined, in its utter refinement;.Sometimes Raucous, sometimes emotional, she's got a wicked wit, which is rare for a beauitiful woman,. I dug it.Ps: The place is awesome too. Like an old Russian pub. Low lights , mirrors brick walls. And gorgeous people everywhere.
I
Great Setting. This was a great place to relax and the drinks. The only down turn is that the drinks are on the expensive side
Bar B.S. Is More Like It. UGH! I wish I had read the other reviews here before going to this hole. An otherwise divey bar with DOORMAN ATTITUDE FROM HELL. The sooner this kind of b.s. goes out of business the better. Yes they have a great vodka list but trust me, just going to Trader Joe's and buying a bottle of the cheap stuff to drink in the alley would be more pleasant than this. Come meet me at Bar Lubitsch, I'll be inside while the doorman keeps you waiting for over an hour..... just because. Guys, if I find out you like this place, there's no way I'd date ya. Drink up!
Bar Lubitsch. Cute scene and bar. They have great drinks and what's even better is they serve Absinthe. Not a lot of bars do that!
TAKE EVERYTHING OUT OF YOUR CAR WHEN YOU VALET HERE!. I utilized the valet at Bar Lubitsch on Wednesday December 17. Outside of the valet taking 10 minutes to get my car, I had no problems with the service until the next morning. I keep bottled water in my car, and I had a brand new bottle in my cup holder. On my way to the gym early the next morning, I realized that not only had the valet DRANK my water… he left the empty bottle in the cup holder. I was completely grossed out, and felt a little violated. I mean if someone is brazen enough to do that, what else are they doing in your car? Perish the thought….
Best crowd, awesome drinks and great music!!!!!!. I just came back from there in a very nice mood! So, I had to write a review, because I found this place due to the previous reviews. A very nice, neat, clean, place, a beautiful crowd, mid 20s to mid 30s. No harassing guys. The drinks are normal prices from $8-12, the service; very nice and the music; very funky, 80s, old school, and 70s. I recommend to go there for fun times. The door-guys pretty cool and awesome! no attitude and no fits! I loved there, I'd definitely go there. It's a West LA hot spot! Cheers. :D
Best Bar/Club in LA.... HANDS DOWN!.
I've been to this bar a few times now... and I am ADDICTED! I will surely be making Lubitsch ("The Bitsch") my new regular spot, as I keep having the best nights ever there! Where do I begin....?
First of all, the Doormen at Lubitsch are the COOLEST I have ever met! They are super duper friendly and helpful...EVEN when there's a CRAZY line outside on the weekends. They fill up really quick on Friday and Saturday...so you HAVE TO get there before 11 if you don't want to wait. Otherwise... BE NICE, have a little patience... and they always help you out! (Getting to know them a little also helps... I heart "The One They Call Stone" who has dreads, and Brian the cute guy with shaggy hair! ;), or...TIP THEM...this is LA people...Greasing the wheels always works!)
Once your in.... the DECOR ROCKS! Awesome old Russian look and feel... The specialty drinks are ALL out of this world... I have dreams about the Cucumber Gimblet! SO YUMMY! The Bartenders are all super sweet... they make STIFF drinks...have GREAT recommendations too! They've got like hundreds of kinds of Vodka..!
It's like a super chill lounge/bar in the front room....and a dance party in the back room. What more can you ask for...? The guy's there are not your typical LA grease bags.... most of them are local, and pretty chill. As a girl, you can wear pretty much anything and not feel out of place. Like I said...this is now my new Go-To Bar. I love it!
See you at 'The Bitsch,'
