In Short – Bleached-wood paneling and columns lined with bright-green Astroturf surround this single-room eatery located along the bustling Sunset Strip. Seven tabletops and a well-attended sushi bar offer frill-free dining and one of the more affordable sushi menus in the area. Lunch features reasonably priced combination-boxes filled with a choice of terriyaki dishes, sashimi and sushi selections. Dinner lures nightlife revelers and local tattoo artists indulging in Sunset and Crazy Shrimp specialty rolls as well as more traditional Japanese rice bowls.

Fresh and fun

by Qmo4949 at Citysearch

I had to write a review after reading some of the less than stellar reports on this site. I have been going to Ezo for two years now and I have never experienced bad service. Only once was the food sub par, however, this was not without good reason as I learned later. Love the food and the people that this place attracts. If you had a bad experience I would suggest giving it another try as I am sure you will not be disappointed.

  • Pros: Great food
  • Cons: none

Ugh Gross - prefab sushi anyone?

by g33kgurli at Citysearch

I have only been to this place once - and that was clearly enough. The sushi didn't seem fresh, the tuna tasted like...well... canned tuna. One of my former co-workers started feeling quesy on the way back to the office and eventually lost her lunch.

There is better on Sunset - right across the street at Ta-ke, save yourself the tummy ache and the blah food - skip this place.

  • Pros: Quick Seating
  • Cons: Food, Wait Staff

Decent Food - LOUSY ATTITUDE...THE STORY OF THE RUDEST WAITER IN WEST HOLLYWOOD!!!

by supow at Citysearch

On this past Friday (Nov. 9, 2007), a girlfriend and I decided to try out Ezo Sushi (a small "dive" on Sunset Blvd. in WeHo). We saw a sign in their window saying "All You Can Eat Sushi"and being the total sushi fanatics that we are, we decided without hesitation to give it a go. Upon entering this somewhat dimly lit restaurant, we seated ourselves at one of the many empty tables. When the waiter asked us what we would like, we said, "The All-you-can-eat Special, of course!" This was funny, because as we said that, he made a little noise, and then seemingly slammed our menus on the table in front of us. We laughed to ourselves, and decided to start off with an order of some Miso soup and a few hand rolls.

We weren't the only people that he was rude to. Not even five minutes after we had arrived, a young couple walked into the restaurant and asked for the "All-You-Can-Eat Special". The waiter said, "All-You-Eat Special" is not on Fridays -- then he said NOT after 7 p.m., or something like that. It was as if he was making up the rules as he went, and the couple stated something to him of that affect, which ANGERED him! That's when he showed them a sign and said that he refused to serve them, and that they should find another "All-You-Can-Eat" Sushi Restaurant if they did not like it! Irritated, the couple left and stated that they would NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN!

My girlfriend and I was truly amazed. Never had we seen such rude service outside of New York - their sushi menu was adequate & tasted ok, but all the rolls had too much rice & not enough sushi. After looking at my plate w/a little rice pushed to the side, the waiter stated (after sticking his finger in my plate), that he will charge me for each roll individually if I didn't eat all of my rice.

Turned-off by the rude service & mediocre food, we decided to leave Ezo, and vowed not "To Go" there again. When small, empty restaurants are rude, what can we expect from bigger ones? THE WORST!

  • Pros: Aside from laughing at the RUDE SERVICE / WAITER -- NONE!!!
  • Cons: TOO MUCH RICE IN THEIR SUSHI & AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
