Best Vietnamese Food. I went with a friend for lunch one day and it was quick service even though they seemed busy. The food was great and I even got something I didn't even recognize on the menu. I ate way too much and loved every minute of it.
Incredibly fresh and delicious.
Blossom is one of my most favorite restaurants in LA. The decor is sparse yet comfortable. The food is simple and delicious. Their presence in downtown LA elevates the local culinary scene.
If you're craving a huge bowl of Pho to snuggle up with, this is the place to go. It's always fresh and healthy and light but never lacking flavor. The chicken pho has pieces of chicken breast, not gross greasy dark meat that you can sometimes encounter. The noodle dishes are also wonderful and super refreshing on a hot LA afternoon.
When you're in downtown LA be sure to check this place out. They are friendly, fast and just damn good.
Great service & healthy, tasty food. I ordered the Pho Tom (with shrimp) and my friend ordered the classic Pho Ga (with chicken). The food is reasonably priced. We both loved our meals. In response to another post that the pho is not adequately spiced, you just need to add extra "rooster" hot sauce and hoisin, which they provide on the table. Their spring rolls are also great. This is a great place to bring a vegetarian, and would be a great date restaurant. There is an outside seating area that also looks quite nice, but I have yet to dine outside. Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth trying if you live in the downtown Los Angeles area.
Disappointing Vietnamese. The spring roll appetizer my friend and I had at this Downtown Vietnamese restaurant was good. However, his Pho noodles and my meat rice dish were almost tasteless. We almost left also when we saw the C rating from the health inspectors. I wish we had now.
Good Food, great price, Downtown even!. I am really glad that I found this place downtown, it is close to the theaters, and affordable. A great variety of dishes and many of them are vegetarian. Everyone in our party enjoyed their dinner. Light, airy, trendy atmosphere a great place to meet with friends before a show.
Wonderful vegetarian place. Tasty frites (tofu! and sweet potato), the spring rolls were refreshing and light and the pho noodle soup was warm, soothinga nd deliscious. I can't wait to go back. My boyfriend and I were walking over to Pete's but saw this place with the large windows and decided to try it. I was awkward at first but the service is freindly and true a bit slow but definitely worth it. Only drawback is having to go outside and around to the other side of the restaurant for the bathroom. They should really consider making a small one at the back. I guess plumbing is an issue because their kitchen is in the middle. But everythingw as wonderful!!!
I wish I lived above this cafe.... Big fig jam anywhere... I guarantee you'll find something you love on the menu. Not a restaurant but definitely a small bite boutique. Service is slow at times but worth it.
Authentic, artsy Vietnamese cafe brightens downtown's Old Bank District..
In Short
Young urban pioneers find a welcome oasis at this hip, elegant Vietnamese cafe in a downtown area still struggling to gentrify. Huge plate glass windows light up an avocado/sage-toned room painted with a gold Buddha. Jazz pipes over packed tables buzzing with lunchtime chatter; sidewalk diners sip tea behind bamboo planters. An ambitious menu serves bothsimple and fancy Vietnamese fare, including pho noodle soups, spring rolls, Vietnamese crepes, sweet potato-shrimp fritters, chicken curry, grilled lemongrass steak and roasted Cornish hen.
Nice Little Pho Place. When it comes to Vietnamese food, I tend to be on the picky side. Years of eating home-cooked food by parents who used to own a restaurant plus having grown up in Vietnam tend to do that to a person. I tried out Blossom today. I had spring rolls and the Pho combination. The spring rolls were made perfectly wrapped with plenty of shrimp and pork. The pho was okay too. The bowl has plenty of noodles and meats. It also has an "A" on the window which is always a plus.
Affordable, tasty and pleasing to the eye.
Whenever friends would invite me out to Pho, I would cringe and politely recommend other options. One time I relented when they promised that Blossom would be different, they were right.
Blossom has an urban and modern look with a down to earth menu and surprise, an "A" rating from the health board. It's your classic Pho restaurant without the fear of finding a hair in your soup and pleasant, clean surroundings. Blossom has quickly become a favorite of mine as they make my pho exactly how I like it. Luckily for me, I can frequent the joint often because it's located close to home and one of the few restaurants open late in downtown, and the prices don't make me feel guilty.
