Never again!!. Party of four--ordered rice, chix burrito, chix tostada, beef nachos. Each thing was more disgusting than the next. The nachos were just a glob of melted cheese with white beans?! The quality of chicken in the burrito and tostada were awful. Frankly, wasn't quite sure it was chicken. There were flies swarming all around us on the outside dirty patio. Give me Los Fuentes in Reseda or Tony's in Valley Village any time!

Maybe I'm just not into "Organic Tacos". I am The Taco Inspector.

First off, to be fair, maybe I shouldn't have been inspecting "organic tacos," since I like regular-tacos...from taco trucks...but oh well.

I loved Hugo's location, but upon arriving they told us no cameras (we were filiming my weekly "Taco Tuesday" program.) Sure, that's their right--but every taco place we go to welcomes us AND our cameras and are happy to have us.

Anyway, on with the review. The tacos tasted weird. They were expensive. The pico de gallo was bland. I gave Hugo's 2 out of 5 sombreros.

You can see the VIDEO review I did at Hugo's at thetacoreview dot com and judge for yourself!

The Taco Inspector is out!

Unique. This is a pretty good place. I tend to get the nachos with honey chipotle salsa. The only thing that is kinda weird is that they put their taquitos on top of beans. Seriously, who does that? By the time you get it home they're soggy.

Gastro-intestinal Nightmare!!!!!. Not sure what the attraction is...I alwasy see the place busy and thought I'd try it. I was very disappointed; the food was cold by the time I got it home (I live about 5 minutes away - tops), the tacos were tiny and there was very little meat. The torta was inexplicably covered in salsa on the outside and the bread was cold as if it had not been warmed or toasted. Worse still is waking up at 1:30am violently ill due to the food. I don't recommend it al all. if you are looking for authentic tacos, you're better off checking the taco truck list and driving the East LA.

Health conscious great mexican food for anytime of day. I wake up craving these tacos every single day of my life. Don't go there expecting tacos from mexico or even casa vega, cause unlike those tacos these actually don't make you feel sick after eating them. Not only are the tacos good they have great brritos and the salad is unbelieveable. So what if there's a line, some things are worth waiting for.

love,

an always happy customer

I don't get the popularity!. I kept hearing this place had great tacos so I decided to try it. Parking was difficult, there was a line and the prices were high for what you get.

I was shocked to find there was only ground beef, not shredded. The meat had a nice flavor, but all the negatives (price, parking, a line, limited menu) didn't make it someplace I'd go back to or recommend.

Best burritos in town. Great location (just off the 101), and great choices for both the filling and the salsa. My favorite is the soy chorizo burrito with honey chipotle salsa. The service is fast, friendly and no-frills.

It's the real deal!. I came here after an event that Hugo's tacos was catering. The food was great, clean and healthy. The staff is really on top of it. The manager is Al. He really seems to give it all he's got.. Try the veggie chorizo in a burrito or the salad. The salsa's rock. It's the real deal!
