In Short
With a 50-year reputation as one of the Monterey Peninsula's most popular spots for hearty morning meals and early-bird dinners, this upscale-casual cafe has relocated to the Cal State Northridge neihborhood, bringing along its mammoth menu and low-stress, NorCal vibe. House specialty breakfasts range from creative egg dishes to funnel cake-crusted French toast. At lunch and dinner, highlights include spinach-cheese ravioli, chicken piccata and Mediterranean-influenced entrees such as beef-and-veggie kebabs, calamari steaks, and braised lamb shank.

I have been in the area over 30 years and to have a good ,fresh food place to eat are far in between. I have had service issues when they first opened, but the food brought me back. After a while , about a month or so , they know me there and are VERY nice and friendly family staff/ owner. I mean to have them in this area? I am thankful they have chose a risky area of even northridge to open their doors. BTW most of the service issues were due to the large numbers of people wanting fresh gourmet foods, i think they have a better handle on that area now. Recommendations : French toast, any benedict(great sauce), rich pastas are .....i really enjoy everything! Give them a couple of try's.

Terrific customer service from waiters with a smile.. Eclectic menu has something for everyone. Meals are fantastic. I personally am trying each item on the menu and have never had a bad meal. Each meal has been better than the one before. Great neighborhood restaurant for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just dessert. French toast is highly recommended. Lamb shanks or eggplant parmesan are favorites. Bread pudding a la mode leaves you smaking your lips in delight. You will not only be full but satisfied after your meal. Once you try this restaurant, you too will be a repeat diner.

This is one of a few non-chain restaurants for breakfast/brunch in the SF valley. However, the food, service, and ambience are just average.
