Tips for Sparky's Pet Grooming

November 14, 2012

Wonderful experience. The groomers are very friendly and very professional. My two dogs, a white Toy Poodle and a Coton always look wonderful when groomed there. I know you will be very pleased with their service. Highly recommend Sparky's. The best in Los angeles. 5 stars!!!!

Wonderful Service Respectful People. I was looking for a grooming shop for my two dogs. I researched, including city search. I read the reports and wondered if this would be right for my pets. i decided to go to Sparky's with my pet and look to see what kind of place this is. I've had bad experiences with grooming shops. The employees there treated me and my pets with such kindness, I asked them did they have time to cut their hair. the girl there said it's close to closing, but we'll be glad to help you. I was very surprised by this. I asked if I could stay and watch, and she said, yes. I was very happy at the quality of care that my pets received at Sparky's, and think that everyone really should take their perts to Sparky's

Great Grooming shop! Great Employees!. I took my old dog to Sparky's and talked to the girl there. He was matted because he's too old to stand very long. My dog was groomed and taken very good care of. I don't know what that lady was talking agout, but they take very good care of my pets. My dog and my cat. I recommend anyone who want's their pets groomed with care and kindness, take them to Sparky's on Wilshire.

DO NOT Take Your Dogs To These People. DO NOT take your dog to these people. I have never seen such rude, snotty employees at any business. Our dog had been with us while attending a horse show and had, of course, as dogs do, gotten dirty and matted. Because of that and because we are conscientious pet owners we brought him in to have him bathed (even though we were visiting friends in Beverly Hills and not actually home yet). The employees were so snotty and actually REFUSED to give him a bath because "it would take ALL of them ALL day to do it". WOW, they must be terribly unqualified groomers if they are that incompetent. And as far as how they treated us.....can I remind you Little Missy, (before you get so uppity again)..... you wash dog butts for a living! Your Momma must be terribly proud of raising such a rude child with such a sterling career. If you are the owner of this business you had better have a conversation with your employees about customer service...don't judge a book by it's cover!

they mauled and muzzled my cat!. I took him in for a shave, and he came back with a large patch of bright red skin in his armpit (like 3 inches) that is still healing 3 weeks later. It didn't seem to hurt or to have broken the skin, but he licks it constantly so it is bothering him. He's normally extremely docile, and even though I'm sure he was upset during the shaving they really should know how to deal with that. that's why I brought him there -- I could have carved him up myself1

The Sliced My Dog's Head! Tried to Cover it Up!. I took my dog in and when I picked him up I was told that everything was fine and he was perfectly calm. I know that is not true, because like several other dogs, he does not like the face cutting that much. I take him to the office and he is acting strange, not like himself. A day and a half later after being completely under my supervision and care I am running my hands through his head and feel something. I separate his hair and find a slice across his head. It was drying up, scabby but still you could tell a few days old at best. I called the salon and they told me that he had cuts on his ears and they apologized for not informing me. He has no cuts on his ears or anywhere else for that matter. They then tell me, if we cut him we would have seen the bleeding. My thoughts exactly, if he would have cut himself or suffered an injury I would have seen the bleeding since I was with him for those 48 hours plus. This is what happened. They cut his head on top with the scissors and/or clippers when my dog moved his head. They then stopped the bleeding, applied some basic first aid, washed him, dried him up and brushed his hair back so it would be hard to see the fresh wound since his hair is very thick and curly. I gave him a bath and dried his hair and it was easy to cover up. They disgust me. They lied point blank because they were terrified of getting sued and of people finding out . So know this, if you take your dog here, this can happen. The time and care I have spent caring for my dog to heal his wound and the scar he will have let alone what he must have went through makes me want to give them a haircut! How can someone screw up like this and then cover it up. This location should be avoided at all costs! Please do not have your dog go through what my dog has gone through. They have done this before in the past I have found out through talking to people. They even said to me after telling me lies that things happen. Terrific. For every great experience you hear there is this you don't hear about and you should know. Slicing a dogs head open is not acceptable. Let alone the other little cuts on his body. They also cut the skin on his privates, bastards! I should go over and give them a haircut but I'm past those days. Just be aware!

Exceptional Care, Compassion, Service at every visit with personal service for not only my Cat but for me.. I have a wonderful Ragdoll Persian who is in absolute love with Sparkys?. Oliver not only loves the staff on Wilshire but refuses to go to anyone else for his grooming needs. He loves the deep cleansing bath and doesn?t mind being blown dry because he enjoys the combing it comes with so he considers it to be his bonus.

The staff have been so professional I am often jealous of the care my Oliver gets and for a reasonable price, which is almost unheard of in the Los Angeles area.

Each staff member has made it a point to make a relationship with Oliver so there isn?t a time where he is unfamiliar with anyone on staff, even with other animals he isn?t the slightest bit uncomfortable if anything he is loving towards other pets in the salon at the same time he is.

The last time I dropped off Oliver for his grooming appointment, I had plenty of time to do my other errands without having to worry once about how he was doing. I got the phone call that he was ready, I went to the salon and there Oliver was on the desk stretched out and asleep at the register. Now granted Oliver weighs 16 lbs so he took up most of the desk. It gave me great comfort to know that he was so comfortable not only with the staff but also being around other animals including dogs of many breeds.

I can not give enough compliments to Sparkys? and the staff, to find a business which gives quality service and to truly care for my baby as much as I do and on top of that not charge me an arm and leg shows exactly why they are able to open other branches around the city.

they lie. I took my baby teacup maltese there many times, my first time they gave her the best hair cut. Ever since then, I feel that the groomer has changed or something, because they never listen to what I told them to do. Each time, i told them that I don't like to tie the bow on her head, please cut it off, but not even once they listened. One time, My husband picked my dog up, realize my poor puppy has a hug cut, you can tell it just happened because it's all red, and still bleeding. They told me husband that it was there before. I could swear to my life, she didn't have any cuts before I drop her off. The fact they lie about it, not admitting it, I would never go back there. Also, why would you make an appointment when we have to leave our dog there for more than 4 hours. I hate that place...

Great experience at Sparky's. We have been taking our dog to Sparky's (West LA) for about two years now and have only had positive experiences. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They finish the grooming in a timely manner and always finish close to their estimated time. My dog gets so nervous going to any groomers but the staff treat her in a kind manner and they are gentle with her. We highly recommend Sparky's in West LA.

Great at puppy cuts and great for doggies with sensitive skin..... Okay, I love Sparky's because out of everywhere they do the best job. I have a little (20lbs) yorkie (yes, he's supposed to be a yorkie, papers say so - but yes he's HUGE.)

My dog loves Sparky's, my dog loves everyone though. My dog hates cages, and will scream like you're pulling his little nails out one by one if you put him in cage - works out okay, because I know he'll be in and out really quick. They don't even try to cage him, he's extra happy if you'll just let him be a shadow - they get this.

I've had some great experiances, and some not so great - once they just gave him a bath, I can give my dog a bath on my own - he was there for a cut...woman "forgot" to write that down...that was a bummer. BUT they fixed it quickly.

They're also really good about letting you know if they find any "bumps" etc..that's nice, makes you realize that they actually take their time. I like that.

Overall - he comes out smelling good, he's happy looking with a cute bandana and they're really good about the fact that he has sensitive skin. The people are really sweet too.. I recommend. :-)
