Editorial Review for Le Marmiton – by Joey Campbell
In Short
Polished wood, shiny tile and cozy, cushioned benches accentuate this eatery's sleek modern interior. The open space maintains a casual aura with diner-style seating and a foyer bar. The menu highlights Gallic fare with Italian influence, utilizing fresh market items in an assortment of seasonal soups and distinctly foreign starters, such as frog legs and escargots. Specialties include light-dough Alsatian pizza, steak au poivre and coq au vin. Homemade pastries and fruit tarts are featured on the dessert menu.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoJazz bands and other live music are frequently featured for free on weekends in the gazebo adjacent to the restaurant's outdoor seating area.
Look GoodAsk before you order if any dessert souffles are available. If so, order early--it could take your entire mealtime to prepare, and staff will likely not suggest it.
Save TimeVisit the Santa Monica sister store of the same name, which serves a lighter, faster selection of French pates and pastries.

My wife and I recently moved to Marina del Rey. As we were walking in the shopping center, we noticed a restaurant in the middle section of the shopping center. We gave it a shot and were very nicely surprised by the quality of the service, how good the food is and by the kindness of the two waitresses. My wife and I were amazed by how dedicated to their customers Natacha and Diane were. They will make you feel at home and pay attention to the details that have made our experience at the Marmiton a must. Karim, the chef's partner, will welcome you with warmth and a great sense of humor. His passion for dogs ( he is also a dog trainer and will give you great tips to help you deal with your puppy) makes him a very special person. He is at the restaurant for dinners and the week ends during the day. Check out for the live music on Wednesday with Lila. Very nice ambiance. We wish the best for the Marmiton. We are great fans of french cuisine and will certainly support Jean-Marc and Karim who work very hard to make the Marmiton the place to go in the west side.
Pros: Food, service, feel at home
Cons: Server should get more training for cocktails

I have been going there for a few months but I have never had better service since our last waitress. Her name is Deanne and she is the best thing that has happened to this restaurant. I have been going there once and a while for the food but the attention she will give you is worth more! She is friendly, beautiful and know what is is doing! When you make a reservation... make sure to be sit in her section!
Pros: Deanne
Cons: None
