What People Are Saying About M Lounge

In Short – Located on the top floor, above Republic restaurant, this invitation-only space features Zebrawood walls, crackling fire pits and a retractable ceiling, which lets in peaks of filtered moonlight. Hot mixologists tend a rectangular bar with plasma-screen TV facing out over a wall of ultra-low furnishings reserved for guests like Hillary Duff and Lindsay Lohan. On busier nights, the lounge overflows into the nearby balcony bar, as DJs spin hip-hop and house music.
Unnecessary long lines, more like a backyard upscale party than a bar

A great way to start off with a bad impression is to have a potentially paying customer wait in line for 50-60 minutes when the place inside has enough room for everyone in the line plus some. I understand you want to have a line outside to make it appear that your place is legit and popular, but once you go inside you find out the truth. Upstairs, the actual M Lounge, has a nice decor to it, but it's too small to comfortable fit 50. It's probably half the size of Library Bar. So most of the time you're stuck downstairs in the Reveal part of Republic. It's all outside (which is neat), the DJ was good, and the service at the bar was quick. But I need something more. There's no place to sit at all (unless you get bottle service and even then they are just couches on the sides of the wall). You're force to stand and kind of awkwardly dance, although there's no dance floor - meaning that you and your group could be dancing, but everyone else around you will just be standing. Really, this place is just a failed bar that they're trying to make into a quasi-dance club.
Just avoid this place.
- Pros: Fastest bar service I've gotten in LA yet
- Cons: Bad lines, inadequate bathrooms, terrible setup
One of my favorite clubs in L.A.

For us non-celebrities who don?t want to wait in line two hours to get into a dance club, M Lounge above Republic restaurant is a great place to go. It maintains an upscale, chic atmosphere while not being pretentious about picking who gets in. The bar extends the entire width on the long, rectangular room, while opposite, a glass wall gives a peak down into the restaurant below. Party-goers sip drinks and dance as the DJ plays a mix of hip-hop and Top 40 tunes. M Lounge is one of my favorite places to go to on the whole Hollywood party scene.
Birthday Disaster!

Service was horrible! Not only did they not have the reservation that I set 3 weeks in advance, but they didn't have my guest list and they made us wait in line for 30 minutes because they needed to set up an area to accommodate us. This is why I made reservations! We didn't even end up in the cabana area that the promoter had suggested. The promotional staff was rude and the main chick got an attitude with me (Me, the chick witht he credit card). Nobody seemed in control or polite the entire night until some other promoter guy decided to step in when he saw the main chick getting an attitude. How can someone with such poor customer service skills stand at the front entrance and greet the guests? I wasn't the only one that was fed up with her nonsense, there was another chick waiting outside that was being completely ignored even when there was NO LINE! What was the main chick getting paid for? Oh, right, to stand around and talk to the other promoters. I was extremely disappointed and would not recommend anyone to put up with this promotional staff. It's not even Hollywood!
- Pros: Nice bathrooms and atmosphere
- Cons: Everthing but the bathrooms and atmosphere
