Experience isn't everything. I went to see Dr. Dougherty under the direction of a friend. I was told that he was a little "different" but a good surgeon. First the people who book your appointment sound like robots repeating how great he is. Then when I got to the office found it very unprofessional. One staff member kept talking about her grandchildren and her health and her husband. Another was on her iphone all the time. Yet another name Michelle talked and talked but didn't seem smart and didn't really tell me anything. No one bothered to call me back when I called in with questions. All in all not a good experience.

Simply the BEST, Better than all the REST. I went to see three different prominent Lasik doctors. Dr. Dougherty put the info right out to me in person. He said I could have Lasik or an ICL implant which is like a contact inside your eye. My friend had lasik and said that while she was really happy, I should consider this new procedure because I was a -7. I spoke with all of the doctors and low and behold Dr. Dougherty was the one with the most experience in the contact implant thing. I liked him, I checked out others but decided on Dr. Dougherty. WELL, I now see like an eagle, better than 20/10 in both eyes. He did both eyes the same day and it was wonderful. I truly believe he gave me the better procedure. He was in on the investigation of this lens prior to it being available to the public. It is made my a company right here in California the name of the Company is Staar, if you are really nearsighted, check it out. The call my doctor the best there is, Dr. Paul Dougherty 323-466-7337. Brilliant Eye Surgeon. Dr. Paul Dougherty has been my ophthalmologist for over 5 years.

I have worked in the medical field for over a decade and was referred to Dr. Dougherty by a colleague when in need of a second LASIK enhancement. Originally the first enhancement was performed by a different eye surgeon, 4-years previously. I had been told by various eye surgeons other than Dr. Dougherty that lifting the flaps for a second enhancement after a 4-year interim was not advisable. Dr. Dougherty was able to successfully lift both flaps in a matter of seconds and perform a second enhancement on both eyes. Before the second enhancement I was 20 / 60. To date my vision is 20 / 20.

Dr. Dougherty?s staff was professional and customer service oriented. They helped put me to ease since I was feeling quite anxious from the previous eye surgeries performed.

I have continued referring my family, friends and anyone I overhear in need of an ophthalmologist not only for laser eye surgery but also cataracts and other eye conditions that other doctors are unable to diagnose or perform (which was the case of a family member I had referred). I will continue referring to the brilliant Dr. Paul Dougherty. From my experience with Dougherty Laser Vision, I understand why the marketing states - the doctor?s doctor.

My experience with Dr. Dougherty was exceptional. I had Lasik a number of years ago but as I headed into my late 50's I was starting to rely on reading glasses again. My experience with Dr. Dougherty and his staff was truly outstanding. They did an extremely complete exam and Dr. Dougherty spent nearly 20 minutes with me going over the different options and having me try different combinations to make sure I would be satisfied. The results were amazing. I had gone to a 2 other "Lasik" Doctors... The difference became really obvious when I realized that the other Doctors didn't do all the tests. They didn't call me back when they had promised and in one case I was not allowed to talk to the Doctor. The experience at Dr. Dougherty's office was a breath of fresh air. The offices were clean, the people were friendly... I have already referred 3 other family members to him.

MY Vision is better than 20/20 without glasses. I have worked in the medical field for many years. I waited a long time trying to decide who to have LASIK with and when to have it. I went to 4 "world famous" doctors in Los Angeles, Westwood, & Beverly Hills and decided on Dr. Dougherty. I was put at ease immediately, he explained my options as he does more than just Lasik surgery he can also implant contact lenses and that is what I had done. Since I was so very nearsighted he said I could have Lasik but a better procedure for me might be these lenses to be implanted. I could never see the detail on leaves and things even with my contact lenses. Two days after the surgery I was 20/10 without any glasses and I had worn glasses since I was 3 years old! My life is changed and very dramatically with this surgery. Dr. Dougherty and his staff are my heros!

GREAT SURGERY = GREAT VISION!. Dr. Dougherty is a skilled and talented surgeon. He performed surgery on me and 4 of my family members. He is thorough in his explanation of the surgery. Tells you all about the surgery and what you will experience, he puts you at ease! The staff is very friendly and they also treat you extremely well in the office. I received juice and a snack for my ride home. Got a call the night after surgery to make sure that they could answer any questions that I might have had. This is a FIRST Class Doctor!!

PS They even offered to have me speak with other patients if I wanted to. The price was fair and I knew exactly what I was getting for my money.

My Lasik Experience with Dr. Dougherty. I am just now posting since I had LASIK surgery 6 months ago with Dr. Dougherty and wanted to see how well it worked for me. I am 46 years old, wear glasses and contact for nearsightedness and was starting to have reading difficulties - especially with my contacts in. After a complete eye exam and Free Consultation with Dr. Dougherty, I decided to try out monovision for one week (using contact lenses with different Rx). The first couple of days were uneasy, then my eyes adapted to the Monovision ... so I went ahead with LASIK with Monovision. The doctor used two different lasers on my eyes-one for 20/20 correction and the other for 20/40 correction. After 6 months, my experience has been wonderful and I would recommend anyone in a similar situation to try Monovision and to definitely go to Dr. Dougherty!
