I wouldn't wish having to go through a divorce on my worst enemy.

It's just a marathon of disappointment and ill feeling and you never have enough time to just stop and process what's happening to you - you just have to hold on tight and stay on the crazy train until it stops.

Luckily for me, I managed to find Karen S. Brown during my early 'crazy days'. She has been my tireless advocate and has managed to keep me clear and focused on the necessary priorities and tasks that I need to get through this thing.

From our first phone conversation, she inspired immediate confidence that she was interested in working "for me" on "my case" not just in scoring another client, which was the general impression I got from many of the other lawyers I'd already talked to. None of the other lawyers I'd met presented me with the legal facts of my specific case as clearly and thoroughly as Karen did or offered any of the options and solutions "up front" that she and her team presented during consultation. I'm sure some of the other lawyers would have been happy to discuss these details "after" I'd paid their retainer but Karen was willing to tell me what she'd be able to do for me if I hired her BEFORE I hired her.

Throughout initial preparation she and her team were incredibly responsive and meticulous - every call and e-mail handled promptly, every process demystified. We were really well prepared for our hearing and as we entered into negotiations with opposing counsel I was very impressed with her ability to troubleshoot on the fly and keep me informed of the best possible options as the landscape kept changing. Karen worked hard to get me the best possible deal on Temporary Support and is still working every angle as we wind down on final negotiations.

Karen actually listens and tries to understand what it is that you are trying to accomplish. She's incredibly knowledgeable, professional and particularly tenacious in the courtroom. She was also willing to work with me on a schedule for paying my retainer and fees which were far more reasonable than just about any other lawyer I met with and I now trust her with a confidence usually reserved for close friends and family members.
