What Our Expert Scouts Say

The Bar Method

Who knew a low impact workout can lead to a major sweat session and toned legs? The closest I'll get to being a ballerina but at least I'll feel more confident in a mini skirt!

Great Studio. I have been going to the here since October 2007. It is a quiet, serene and cozy studio. The place lives up to its name. My trainer, designs each session depending on how my body feels. Some days, I am stiffer (arthritis) and we do more stretching, some days I feel great and she works me out! I always feel like I am her only client, that?s how focused on me she is. As a result of my weekly visits, my body is much stronger, more flexible and looks a lot better. My arms and legs have long, strong muscles, my abs are finally getting strong! I have never liked exercise and now, I cannot live without my Pilates session. I joke that I feel just as good after Pilates as I do after a massage! I highly recommend his spot to anyone looking for personalized training.

Hard rock ABS!. I stumbled upon this find with a local school auction win; I had always wanted to try Pilates. In a short series of classes, I felt a noticeable change! With a few more classes, I felt sleeker in my over-40 body! I was amazed at how much fun I was having too! Trisha and Jesse worked me hard while making me smile and laugh as the hour passed. I find myself missing the camaraderie almost as much as the expert instruction. Pilates takes mental energy and the descriptive approaches given and encouragement along the way are best in class! Thank you to Cassidy and her tremendous staff! TRY THEM OUT!

A whole new level of sore. I took a class with my baby sister and loved every minute of it. I work out 4-5 times per week with weight training and spin classes etc. and I have been an athlete all my life. So I love finding new workouts that challenge me. What's so cool about Bar Method is that it really pushes muscle endurance. No matter how in shape you think you are Bar Method pushes that limit and helps you find new levels of sore.

My go-to workout for immediate results. I'm an avid runner who always felt that while running keeps me healthy, it doesn't sculpt my body the way I'd like. Bar Method is my go-to cross-training workout to see results that same day. It challenges me and builds strength in muscles I didn't know I had. The teachers are fantastic too.

a GREAT workout!. I danced when I was younger, and I love pilates now, so The Bar Method was a great fit for me. It is a full body workout in 1 hour. The movements look like they should be so easy, but you soon learn exactly how hard core this workout actually is! And results come quickly. I can feel my body get leaner, longer and stronger with each class!

Always a great workout, best teaching method I've found. I enjoy trying out all types of fitness classes as my mind and my body seem to often get bored easily if I find myself doing the same repetitions over and over without changes or progression--this is NOT the case with The Bar Method. When I tried Bar Method for the first time, I craved more and more because I found each class each day was so different even though the principals of the class structure remained the same. The teachers are all incredibly friendly and most importantly, watchful of all of their clients to ensure that proper form and alignment is being observed throughout all of the intervals being performed. I have tried a few different barre-based exercise programs based on affordability at the time, but The Bar Method is by far the best program/method/workout out there. The exercise sequencing pushes me to exhaustion and is followed immediately by blissful stretches to stretch the exact muscles that were just worked--all while focusing on the breath to pull in my abdominals throughout the class and correct posture (something I have not found emphasized elsewhere). I encourage anyone who is looking for something new to add to their workout repertoire to try out The Bar Method. If you are looking for a new body and great workout in an incredible learning atmosphere, you'll be hooked.

If the classes are more than your budget can handle, the DVDs are great supplements that move along with the same class structure just a little bit of a slower pace.

buns of steel here I come!. Every instructor is wonderful and each have taught me something new. I've had gym memberships, been to yoga classes and have never, ever, stuck with anything for 30 days straight. The introductory offer is amazing and it got me committed to exercising and in turn I feel so much better and I'm ready to sign up for more! the classes are amazingly FUN, hard, but difficult in a way that makes me stronger, hotter, and really proud of myself. Just show up at least 3 times a week and be ready to feel like a million bucks! Forget new clothes, I want a newly improved body!!

I'm lovin it!. I joined the Bar Method in West LA 14 months ago. My goal was just to do something useful while i was waiting for the traffic on the 405 to get better, and why not getting some muscles where i needed them! My first class was awful. I thought i was going to be sick. I had never thought this would be a difficult or straining work out! It made me realize that i had only focused until now on a very limited number of muscles in my body, and that i had a lot of work to do if i wanted to look as toned and sexy and the other women in my class. I love challenges so i decided to stick to it and see if my body would change. During the 1st 3 months i did not see much, in fact i sometimes felt i was getting better. But then i started noticing that i was definitely much more toned than before, that i had 6 pack abs (seriously!) and that my butt that had been historically flat all my life was getting stronger too. My arms were the part of my body that changed the quickest (i had never worked them out before, so no surprise): now even guys look at me and say "wow, for a tiny person, you're quite tone". On a personal note, i have been suffering from neuralgia in my legs for 7 years.... As i get stronger at the Bar method, i noticed that i more able to managed the pain, probably because i get stronger muscles to support me. For me it is worth all the pain and swearing i go through during those torturing classes! I'm going tonight in fact and i can't wait!
