In Short – This designer boutique, first launched in East Hampton, NY, sits in a stark, skylit black, white and red space on Robertson, which provides a neutral backdrop for trying on the wide range of sophisticated full-length and cropped-leg trousers, drapey tops and novelty tanks with hand-cut leather letters announcing "These are real." Near the register, there's a miniature outpost of NYC snackers' favorite Dylan's Candy Bar, dispensing monochrome M&M's and red licorice.
adorable cocktail dresses

i needed a dress for a holiday party but was leaning against the standard black strapless. i went to a few shops and couldn't find anything, so i scoured my favorite shopping sites and noticed that of the dresses i liked, they were all alice and olivia.
a friend of mine mentioned the alice and olivia store on robertson, so i decided to give it a shot. i was expecting a limited selection, or limited in comparison to what i could find online, but i was totally wrong. there were so many choices, so many styles, so many everything. and it's not that there's a ton of stuff to sift through, it's just that the selection is really good. and it was so nice to try everything on instead of guessing with an online purchase. alice and olivia is more well known for great pants/ slacks i would say, but go check out the cocktail dresses! i love the one i got!
another thing i have to mention is that several stores have big sales this time of year, but the selection is terrible. when i came here, all of last season's items were on sale. half the store was 40 percent off and the new stuff was reasonable as well. plus, the staff is really sweet and helpful and not pushy at all.
- Pros: cocktail dresses! really friendly, helpful staff
- Cons: parking on Robertson, but that's a given
