Best place to have a party!. I always enjoy going to the parties held at Blue Dahlia. The wine list is excellent, the service is awesome, and the cafe is designed so people can mingle!
Great spot to hang out at!. I live a pretty busy life and I always look for a place where I can unwind without all the noise. I was introduced to Blue Dahlia by a friend and was impressed by their cozy atmosphere and most importantly, the quality of their food. I had their seafood pasta and fell in love. Although they have a comprehensive wine list, I'm a beer drinker and enjoy their selection. While offering exceptional service with a friendly attitude, the staff at Blue Dahlia really know how to make your visit memorable. This venue is a GREAT place to host private events.
Absolute best panini!!!!. I went to Blue Dahlia's with a small group of friends recently and we had a great time. We ordered decanters of whites and reds of several varietals and the staff gave us a little background on the different wines we were about to drink. This was a great treat for me since I know nothing about Italian wines and up until that night had only ever tried Chianti and Pinot Grigio as far as Italian wines were concerned. The atmosphere was very enjoyable and relaxing with light background music, but quiet enough to still be able to carry on conversations with everyone around the table. For dinner we had salad and shared platters of Panini, which were the best Panini I've ever tasted. We had about 6 varieties of Panini and each was absolutely incredible. I never made it out to the patio area, but judging by the picture on citysearch it looks like I missed out on something special. I'll make it a point to check out the patio the next time I go, which I'm planning on doing soon with my wife.
Cozy, fun, and delish.... I've been to this place a few times now, and it's been a good experience each time. The atmosphere is interesting, because while the indoors is comfortable and cozy, the outdoor patio is refreshing and fun. It's a great place to go for both intimate and large group gatherings, and is just a relaxed place to hang out, talk, sip wine, and eat. The food is perfect to munch on with wine, and I would highly recommend the tomato/pesto/chicken finger sandwiches, and all of the paninis. I would be selfish and not recommend this place to anyone cuz I want to keep this secret for myself to enjoy... except the owner also seems so nice and friendly and I want to see this newer place do well.
Great food, wine, atmosphere!. If you like wine, you'll love Blue Dahlia! An unique selection that leaves the "usual" wines at the door. Don't stick with one - sample a few. Definitely try the Barbaresco! The owner came by and offered some stories about the origins of a couple of the wines. Cozy atmosphere was great for chatting with friends without feeling rushed or uncomfortable. I was there for the wine but had a few "snacks" that were delicious and touched my tastebuds with unexpected flavors and textures. I didn't try a panini but I definitely will on my next visit. I did try a Delirium which was smooth, light and very tasty. Go! For the food or the wine, just Go!
Great place to unwind. Was introduced to this hip and romantic jewel of J-town through some friends, and I was delighted to discover a super elegant outdoor patio perfect for conversation and private parties. The stylish lounge and bar areas are tastefully adorned with opulent tables and comfortable couches. The combination of friendly service and cool vibe make this cozy hideaway a neighborhood favorite. I was very impressed by their sophisticated selection of beverages and scrumptious snacks? You?ll love the chocolate cheesecake and mushroom topped crostinos.
Best of J-town.... ok technically not in J-town which means easier access and better value. The elegant patio provides for a great before and after date spot. I'd have to agree with Dr. Mushroom, yet the hot panini still rules in my book...
Great Bruschetta..9 different kinds and they're coming up with new ones!. Great service and ambience...loved the patio...good italian wine selection and I hear that they are expanding their wine selection....you have to try their Mushroom Bruschetta! (it's made with 5 different mushrooms!)
best patio in la.
Exactly what downtown needs. Came with my girlfriend and went to the back patio... what a surprise. Where the front has a cozy modern industrial vibe, the patio has this lush tropical feel. Romantic and totally unexpected. Reminds me of New York.
My favorite is the bruschetta with fig and prosciutto. Hers is a toss-up between the bruschetta with roasted asparagus, truffle oil, and shaved parmesan and the panini with carmelized onions and melted, oozing cheese... the ciabatta was scored picture perfect. The wine list is exceptional... gotta love Barolo by the glass and the fact that the majority of bottles are under $50! The staff was laid-back and friendly... no hint of wine snobs here. They also have an excellent but short selection of Belgian ales including Delirium and Chimay on top of the standard Moretti. A little odd for an Italian wine bar, but who am I to complain? Love Belgian ale. A neighborhood standby in the making.
