SUPER sushi – I find this place with my frieds couple days ago. BEST place EVER!
Citysearch Editorial Review – This cozy sushi joint has become a go-to spot for decently-priced sushi, creative rolls and bento box specials. The narrow dining room is dominated by a lengthy sushi bar while several tiny two-tops are packed on the small sidewalk patio out front, which is separated from neighboring Il Capriccio’s slightly-larger patio. On the menu, you’ll find no fewer than 54 rolls--all accompanied by fairly accurate glossy photos that eliminate any potential surprise factor. Plenty of options for raw fish-phobes include the Disco Shrimp Roll, with baked shrimp and scallops, spicy crab meat and avocado; the Popcorn Lobster Roll, with deep fried lobster, spicy tuna and avocado; and the Baked Salmon Roll, with baked salmon, spicy yellowtail and avocado. Drinks include a basic offering of wine, sake and beer.
I was disappointed tonight, I always go to NIko for sushi – Tonight, my girlfriend and I went to have sushi and while making the paradise roll, the guy making it cut his finger, my friend saw this and thought maybe it was the fish bleeding, then the guy run the water through his finger and continue making the roll and the finger kept bleeding. So, my friend told him that he was bleeding so he finally went to the back to cure his finger, the other guy making sushi make two paradise rolls in second, my friend was not confortable because she thought they were giving her the same sushi. Good thing we were sitting at the bar, they probably would had taken us the bleeding roll to the table. We asked to have a new done and the other guy who was not cut, got very upset and made us wait for an hour for the new roll. I am soo mad because it used to be my favor sushi place :( wow! I cannot believe it. They should have re done the roll and taken it to us right away. Not good for such a good sushi place.
The best sushi!!! – Ive been to many many many sushi places. When I first went to Niko Niko I got a bento box. They a good variety but at the niko niko in cerritos they have a bit bigger variety
It's really great here. My favorite rolls are the TNT roll, Calamari roll, Hungry roll and volcano roll. If it's your first time try the TNT roll. I guarantee you will be hooked and will go back to try other! The gyoza is delicious!!!!!!!
great Sushi in Los Feliz – Me and my husbang go there when we want to eat sushi
his favorite is the TNT rolls and mine all the vegy menu ;)
They are very friendly , and good sushi
1 of the reasons we love LA – The best Sushi in town and you don't have to refinance your house to pay for it.
The fish is always fresh, the girls always sweet and the atmosphere is hip and cool!
BEST SUSHI – My favorite local sushi place. The only person who ever hated it was from Georgia who obviously knew nothing about sushi! (said the fish wasn't hard enough!). Anyway, it's super fresh, super cas., and super fab. Great date place & totally affordable & nice staff--thought the service can be slow unless you sit at the bar. Also, because the bill is not itemized, it makes industry folk happy (food & alcohol on the same business tab).
my favorite sushi joint! – If I had to choose ONE and ONLY ONE sushi restaurant to frequent for the rest of my life, it would definitely have to be Niko Niko on Vermont hands down. The rolls are beautifully made and presented! The fish tastes fresh and is served at just the right temperature ;-) (Yes, I have been to other places where the tuna rolls have been warm. yuck!) . Niko Niko is probably the only place where I choose to sit at the sushi bar because it is so fun to watch the sushi chefs prep the rolls, and they are really charming and personable as well. Although I am unfortunate enough to be allergic to shrimp, crab and lobster, there are still things on the menu for me to eat. The sushi chefs are great at modifying the rolls for my special needs.
First time visitors must definitely try the Ono sushi or the Ono and Yellowtail sashimi.
Their teriyaki sauce is also worth noting. It is made at the restaurant and doesn't have the aftertaste that many teriyaki sauces have.
The service is great as well, I don't have to wave a giant banner to get my drink refilled or plates taken away.
Ocean Fresh Fishies – After living 100 feet away from Niko Niko for years in the Hollymont Apartments, I decided tonight that it was just plain weird that I've never stepped foot in here. Then again, I never watch movies at the Los Feliz 3, but that's another story. What a great experience. Over 50 fantastic rolls (Paradise roll, as recommended by another user, is perfection on a plate), very fresh (the Mackeral always being my "test", and this Mackeral did not die in vain!) and a very attentive staff. Granted, I did sit at the bar as I was alone, so I can't speak to the table service. I couldn't help thinking that based on the confined dining area, this is not the place to go with a group larger than 4. As far as Los Feliz and Silver Lake sushi goes (Zen=dreadful quality and Coda=nightmarish service) this is the destination of choice from here on out for me.
BEST ROLLS EVER!!!! – I love this place. I love that is small and always full of people. This tells me that the sushi is always moving and fresh. It always tastes so fresh. My favorite are the Rolls they are soooooo tasty! My top 3 rolls are The TNT roll, the baked spicy lobster roll and the O'yshi roll!!!!!
