Fresh Sushi Close to Organic. Fresh In The Box, is my personal favorite quick service sushi spot. There's no place in LA that offers traditional Japanese cuisine with healthy alternatives such as the brown rice sushi, organic green salads, vegetarian options, all natural free-range chicken, beef, pork, and seafood all at a very reasonable price. The environment is not your traditional Japanese sushi restaurant because there's no sushi bar with a sushi master to serve you. Although it does get more food credit and respect in comparison to the Anglo food trap franchise chain known as Sushi Boy (not to insult to Chef Michiyo because she has done a fabulous job in providing delicious fresh and somewhat organic options in her cuisines). You go in this place with the intention of receiving great service and plus you are craving a quick healthy tasty fresh Asian (not implying on a happy ending - but it is possible). My personal choice is the Healthy-Mate Box, No Carb House Special Roll - cucumber, salmon, crab, and avocado, and side of seaweed salad. I recommend trying any of the sushi with the brown rice: shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, spider rolls, etc. I promise you will get hooked. That's how I got hooked, and have been a loyal patron since2007.

Awesome organic food. this place is just wonderful. they have great organic food and wonderful service. this was the first time I had organic brown rice at a Japanese restaurant. just perfect

love the teriyaki. Friendly atmosphere. The staff recognizes me and always remembers what I order (I am in a rut). Love the salmon

and cucumber salad. Everything I have had has been good.

Clean Fresh & Friendly. i love this place..they deliver fresh organic sushi and japanese food to my home inside of 30 minutes. Their food is always fresh and yummy...and i am a sushi snob..very particular about where i eat raw fish and this place is a little gem. The people there are great and always lovely to deal with...i highly recommend!

Organic asian excellence!!. I love asian food and this is the best healthiest asian food I've found in LA at this price point (under 10$). If you eat organic, you know how hard it is to keep costs down, and this place is a great value and great tasting!!!

Organic Brown Rice Sushi. Definitely come to Fresh in the Box for their Brown Rice Sushi! It's a lot healthier and tastier (in my opinion) and I don't know of many places that offer it. Don't expect Ngiri style sushi as they only serve rolls, but do expect good quality fish for the price you're paying. I've had the Spicy Tuna Sushi, the Spicy Salmon w/ Cucumber Sushi, & the Marina Roll -- all with brown rice. I'd have to say that the Spicy Tuna was my favorite.

As far as the entrees go, I've had their Chicken-Katsu curry which is HUGE and covered in sauce. My boyfriend had the regular Chicken curry and said he didn't like the chicken much (they use free-range though!) but that the sauce was great. My co-worker had the Vegetable Curry and she really enjoyed that. I like the fact that they don't skimp on the sauce since other curry places often give you too little in comparison with the amount of rice they give.

As far as other menu items go, I have had their Grilled Salmon with the Sweet & Spicy Miso sauce which was okay. It might have been better if I'd eaten it there, but I took it To Go so it was cold by the time I got to it. Another co-worker had the Tofu Salad and the Chicken Kara-Age (Nuggets), and both were deemed pretty good.

I appreciate the fact that they strive to use organic products when available. It is nice and clean inside and you can sit down and eat there, but I think most of their business is To Go. The staff is really friendly (offered me free barley tea my first time there, and gave me free miso soup and a t-shirt when I placed a large To Go order) and you can tell that they really care about their business and what their customers are putting into their mouths. I appreciate a business that wants to please its customers AND is green-friendly.

Great place for lunch. My coworker took me here over our lunch break. Despite the interesting name for a sushi place, it was definitely a pleasant surprise. I had the "Healthy-mate" box, and the portions were perfect, allowing me to go back to work without suffering from food coma. Try their sushi with brown rice; their fish is pretty good. The workers are really friendly, and this place is highly recommended.

really, really good sushi. This place is such a pleasant surprise. Really good sushi, good prices, and good service. I am picky about what fish I'll eat, and this has been consistently good. Highly recommend.
