it has been several weeks since i went to m&d to have my brakes done and they are working properly.

after inspecting my brakes dale told me that i only need to have my front pads replaced and my front rotors turned.

the shop is small and family owned by dale. i found my experience to be honest and fairly priced which are the two criteria i look for.

Beware of Mechanics

Brought my truck in to have the drive shaft replaced. The guys did quick work. I had it at a different mechanic, MAAX Transmission, for a week and they didn't do a thing with it, brought it to these guys and they had it done in a day and a half.

However, When I picked it up I still noticed a vibration. It was very noticeable and was indicative of the drive shaft being out of balance, which you should always do before installing it in a vehicle but which is sometimes overlooked because most will come well balanced. However, when I brought it back one of the mechanics took it for a ride and said he couldn't feel anything. So I took him for a ride and pointed out when it was vibrating and he realized that it was indeed vibrating.

Yet, when we got back to the shop he tried to convince me of anything but the drive shaft being out of balance (transmission mount is loose, heat cover for exhaust is loose) then they insisted that the rear differential was loose and that was causing the vibration. One way he tried to prove to me it was loose was by turning the drive shaft a little bit. I was very upset because I could sense they were just making excuses why they wouldn't fix their mistake. I called two other shops one which specializes in drive shafts and they assured me that the rear differential rarely if ever makes the truck vibrate. Rather it would make a loud noise which was not the case. They also said the drive shaft is supposed to turn a little. I immediately called M & D and asked them to balance the drive shaft even though insisted that wasn't the problem.

They balanced the drive shaft and now it runs great. The guy up front is great. He is personable and seems like a real nice guy but the guys he has working for him you have to be weary of. Make sure you check the facts before you let them convince you of an expensive repair.

These guys assumed that I had no idea what was going on and so they could play there tricks and get out of fixing their mistake. Overall they did an ok job but I would caution you to beware. Also I would recommend Ed Little if you have a week to wait in line. He is good so he is always booked.

Amazing Value + Fast and Good Work!

The time from when I called to inquire for a quote on my front&rear brakes to the time I got called to pick up my fixed car was than 4 hours. What's more? Dale quoted me the cheapest price I could find any where in town.

I was recommended by my friend and now I'll pass on the great deal to everyone I know.

Great Value & Service

I was hoping to find a mechanic in LA that would provide me with fair prices and honest service...and I found that at M&D!! I immediately felt at ease leaving my car in the hands of a shop that has specialized in brakes for quite some time. Not to mention that Dale is fantastic, and was able to replace my front brake pads and rotors in a very efficient and timely manner!!! I HIGHLY suggest that if you need ANY work done...go here!! Since I had been warned that getting brakes and rotor pads replaced is really costly, I appreciated a mechanic that charged fair prices!!! Thank you Dale!!!

Good for Brakes

I went to get new Rotors and pads for my toyota camry. 125.00 for front new rotors

and brakes. 125.00 for just the back new brakes. He gave a great deal compared to other shops. So far my car runs pretty good with the new rotors and brakes. I recommend this place for brakes, but I do not have experience regarding other mechanical needs. He says his shops does all car needs, but do your homework. Always research around. Find specialists who specialize on the area that needs fixing. Mechanics that dabble in all areas of mechanics, only do low to mediocre jobs. Since these guys have been brakes specialists since 1970's, you're guaranteed to get good work on your brakes. That much I can say.
