good ok food, great place, great service, horrible mexican food, good cheap drinks, great good chips, great general atmosphere
Secret HotSpot. I read a few of the reviews on CitySearch before taking my girlfriend and some friends here. This place has such a great vibe. I was greeted by everyone with a smile and our waitress was so adorable. We were there during their happy hour and got major deals on our margs and beers. We started off with the free chips and salsa. And the tacos were good. My girlfriend ordered the Caesar salad and it was tasty and fresh. Some of the reviews on here are so awful. It really didnt help at all. So hopefully my review will help.
Attractive Sign Outdoors.. but keep on driving!. My family and I finally went to Pink Taco over the weekend after seeing the great sign from Santa Monica Blvd and driving past it several times. The waitress was obviously trained at the center for the deaf & blind because her demeanor was ridiculous! Her attitude was dry, she never came back to ask us if we needed anything, never offered water or drink refills and had the nerve to ask us to pass all of our plates to help her clean up! I had the crispy tacos with chicken which were ok but the beans and rice were cold. The menu is definitely overpriced because of it's location but if you're going to have mediocre food, then Management needs to at least invest in formal employee training! Of all three hostesses at the entrance, not one of them said goodbye or thank you for coming! I guess they're making so much money that they don't need to extend customer service.
Inattentive service and overpriced drinks. The waitress didn't notice that we had no silverware so we borrowed from an empty table nearby. The atmoshphere/decorating is a bit bizarre, a mix of who knows what, everything but the kitchen sink hanging from the walls and ceiling. A Cadillac Margarita cost $12. The drink cost more than the meal. I ordered a chicken ceasar salad, but instead of serving chopped up lettuce, they served whole stalks of romaine lettuce and poured the dressing on them. I had to cut up the lettuce and somehow get the dressing to mix in. I don't eat out so I can do the work. The place is too loud if you want to have conversation. Someone had told us about this place, so we tried it, but I just don't get it. The waitresses all wear tight, revealing tank tops, so maybe that's the attraction, not sure. I did not like anything about it and do not recommend.
Not for vegetarians!. I adore everything about Pink Taco, fun, good service, cute atmosphere-but their rice has chicken powder in it, which is not cool if you are a vegetarian! The pink taco's are awesome. The general atmosphere is pretty cool. They do have a great menu and chill crowd for happy hour.
Tacos are yummy for the tummy. I like the paintings and the pink walls ... I like to eat tacos and this is just the place for such a great meal.I really enjoyed the quality of food and service.
Love it here!. I go to the one in Century City with my boyfriend about once a week. It is our favorite restaurant. The first time we went our waiter suggested the Hornitos shrimp appetizer and the lobster enchiladas. We got both and decided to split them. The shrimp are a little spicy, but the flavor is incredible!. They come in a hornitos lime sauce with baguettes for dipping. The lobster enchiladas are very light on the cheese, and are actually really sweet. The tortilla tastes like sweet corn. We also order a 2.50 side of guacamole instead of the 10$ appetizer one. We don't bother with the drinks because happy hour only applies at the bar, and the wait is generally way too long to get a drink. But on the one occasion i did get a drink, the sangria blanco is really good-tons of fruit, and comes in a really big glass.
Overpriced, Cold Food, Terrible Service. The title really says it all, but EVERYTHING on the menu is overpriced. $7 for a bottled beer, $13 for terribel tacos! My boyfriend and I had the steak tacos. They were cold and very ordinary for the price. Need I say more about the drink prices. The ONLY way it would be worth it would be during happy hour for 2 for 1, otherwise you might as well go to hollywood. The service was awful! No water refill, no silverware, no smile. We had to try and get our own silverware while our food was already on the table and then another girl told us we couldn't have the roll ups becuase there was another party coming! Excuse me!! Anyways, terrible experience, will not dine there again UNLESS, it is happy hour and we can sit outside. The patio is the only reason they get even one star!
Food not good enough to charge 7 for a bottle of beer. I visited for lunch and found the staff pleasant and the ambience lively with 80's pop hits thumping out one after another. Ordered Panuchos which were tasty enough but served only with a stingy portion of rice and beans. I downed two bottles of Pacifica (a very cheap mexican import) right away to warm up to the music then ordered lunch and drank a third. Three bottles of Pacifica at $7 a bottle makes this place too upmarket for me. I'll stick to less expensive places where I can drink 16oz of draught Stella Artoise at $7 a glass. I wonder what they charge for Margaritas......
Nice spot to hang out. If you're looking for some pretty good food with nice drinks, this is a place to put on your list. It's the perfect nightcap to a day at the mall. But beware - as other reviews mention - the waitresses will offer newbies things such as guacamole as if it's free. It's not.
