This Hollywood coffeehouse doesn't measure up to its Venice counterpart in terms of location or people-watching, but it's still dependable for a sandwich and great cup of joe.. Serving specially blended coffee from Groundwork and bagels from Bagel Broker, this cafe and sandwich house has the essential menu items, just not any charm. Inside it's dimly lit and features none of the comfortable armchairs that make independent coffeeshops a haven for bookworms (sorry, laptoppers--there's no WiFi here). Still, with no Starbucks or Coffee Bean within a few block radius, many locals know it as their neighborhood cafe. The tasty homemade sandwiches have won over shoppers and office workers looking for an affordable lunch spot, with prices well under $10. Low-calorie dieters can also grab a half sandwich for just $4.50.
