bad service, not recommend place, great food, nice bar atmosphere, great molcajete, never cold refill, rude manner
Pretty Good. I enjoy my meals here. Mexican food is not really know for variety. 98% of Mexican food is some combination of meat, tortilla, lettuce, and tomato. Add in salsa and interchange the meat and you have the entire Mexican menu. Sometimes simplicity is the best.
Gloria's. I love the molcajete at Gloria's is very delicious!!! and the bar atmosphere is great too!
Not Bad.
I came to Gloria's on a very big recommendation from a friend who raves about it all the time. I came and things started off good. The drinks were good, and the appetizers were good. Then the main dish came, and I was a little disappointed. I am Mexican and have tried many mexican restaurants all over. This food was just O.K.
The atmosphere was nice, and the servers were nice, yet a little slow, and it was not a busy night. Overall I wasn't impressed, but I can't say I was disappointed either. Again, it was just o.k..........
The Best in Town. To el tragon!!! Ofcourse you think they overcharge, you orobably want more food than what they give a normal person. No wonder you are called el tragon, go to a buffet!! You get a great amount of food for a reasonable price. I've been going since it opened and they have great service. Ofcourse if you are demanding and disrespectful you are going to be treated the same way.
Great food but, not enough bar area.
I dont know what restaurant there talking about but, the glorias that I go to on a regular basis
Is GREAT!!! There campechana cocktails and molcajete mix, ceviche is awesome. And they
have the best service mon thru wed. thursday - friday its pretty busy. We use to go into the bar area
for there 5 dollar pitchers of beer (where can u find that deal!)But now this days its to packed down,
they need to extend it through there patio which is never being used. But other than that its still
our favorite place to go.
Drinks good, food ok, service bad. This was once my favorite place. It went from bad to really good to bad again. When they first opened they must have had a bad chef beause I didn't go back for some time. The food was awful on my first visit. I then went back after about a year or two. I figured if they are still in business, they must have improved from the last time I visited. And yes, they were actually really good. I tried the steak picado (really good) and also the mixed fajitas (on the good side) and the steak fajitas (great). Then I was introduced to their Mojito. For a mexican restaurant, it's GREAT! So then I became a regular. I loved it and my kids loved it....As time has passed the food is still good, and the Mojitos are good, BUT now they pack them with ice so you get about 1/2 the drink you used to. So they are definitely pinching the penny. Service was always good to mediocre but it has now gone down to bad service. So if you don't mind paying more for less and employees with attitude, managers who don't care, waiting a long time to be seated and no parking, go to glorias!
Once one of my favorites, but not anymore...worst service ever now..
I use to love this place. I probably went there at least 25 times in the past. I haven't been there in a while, and we decided to go last weekend and my attitude about this restaurant completely changed. They went from about a B+ to an F.
First of all, we asked for some more chips and salsa, and the bus boy told us that there was an additional charge of $1 for each item. Now mind you, there were 10 of us and we were probably going to spend close to $200.00. Next, we waited forever (40-45 minutes) for the food to come. While we were waiting, not once did anyone come by to refill drinks or ask if we needed anything. I had to chase down the waitress and/or bus boy for anything we needed. Finally, the food arrived (BTW, everything on their menu had gone up $2.00 since the last time I came), and it wasn't like I remember. I got the fajitas (good portion) and they were different than before. Two of the meals were cold or luke warm. Then, there was the clincher for me. They basically brought us our tortillas. When we asked for more, they said that they cost $1 more per three. We stated that they did not give us enough based on the number of meals ordered, and the bus boy actually started arguing with us about it. I spoke to the manager who really didn't do much to gain my respect. She said they would not charge us for the extra 3 tortillas (even though they were owed to us anyway). She explained that in order to keep the costs down, they started charging for everything. She actually showed me where these new costs were located. I had to laugh as it was on the back of the menu where no one would look, along with a comment that says you can only dine there for 2 hours. Ok, so do they account for the length of time we actually spent waiting for the food? Nope! They asked us to leave after about an hour and fifty minutes. It was very rude too, much like the way that the other commenter mentions. In closing, I do not recommend this place, and I will go not go again.
Great food!. I go there all the time am actually a regular during happy hour, and never had bad service.. The dinner is really good and the service was great!! Not sure why people will give it a bad review. The place is really nice. Clean and all that... Sometimes there is many unsatisfactory people..
Stay away, bad service. After they take your order, they never come back again to ask if you need anything. I never got a refill on my water and my food was cold. My sister never got tortillas with her order and the waitress fought with her over that. You only get one basket of chips and salsa. After that, you have to pay a $1 for salsa and $1 for chips. They also charge $1 for an extra order of tortillas. We had been there for 1 hour and 50 minutes when the hostess came over and told us in a rude manner that our time was almost up. Apparently, you have to leave after 2 hours since that is their NEW limit for customers, even though we were a party of 9 and spent well over $100. Maybe since their gratuity was already included in the check they felt they did not have to work for it and instead gave us bad service. The manager was NOT helpful at all. She took no action whatsoever. After going here for many years, I don't plan to return ever again.
Great Food, Good Time, Excellent Service. Our experiences at Gloria's have always been great! The food is awesome especially the Molcajetes. My husband and I frequent this place ever since it opened sometimes alone, or with our toddler daughter, with friends at happy hour, and even had our wedding reception held there. Its an awesome place to relax, eat and enjoy great drinks or beer. Being of Mexican descent, we are quite finicky about "Mexican" food and this place is just very satisfying. The only downside to it is that if you have a large party, there are no reservations taken especially on Friday, Saturday or Sunday when the mariachi band makes their presence, but if you're willing to wait for a table, it'll be worth your while. Things to try are the Molcajetes, the pollo a las brazas and tons of their homemade tortillas, guacamole and horchata drink. ENJOY!
