Chock full of artful papers and craft ideas, customers are allowed to create customized invitations, stationary and gifts at this beautiful boutique.. In Short Founded in 1983 by Sue Lindstrom, this Chicago-based connoisseur of all things paper has since expanded to nine states beyond Illinois. Each location is still steeped in the genuine ideal that papermaking, and paper in general, is an art. Therefore, the shops stock an unlimited variety of playful colors--fuse green, confetti yellow--and a complete range of sizes for any project. Sheets of decorative paper are delicate and thin, others tough and full of fiber. Some have traveled from as far as Nepal and Japan, others may have been crafted from 100% recyclable materials at a mill nearby. Either way, you'll find all the materials you need to bind a book, make a photo album or create your own note cards. There's also a lively selection of cards, rubber stamps, calendars, address books, journals, plastic toys, candles, picture frames, ribbon, calligraphy pens and more.
If you like paper craft, this is the place for you!.
I first discovered Paper Source through a blog that listed websites for invitation supplies. I was going to order one of their DIY kits online until I realized they had locations in SoCal! I felt like I was in paper craft heaven when I entered the store! I found supplies to make custom invitations from scratch, exactly the way I wanted. If you like paper craft and you're tired of shopping at your mom's dated craft store (e.g. JoAnn fabrics, Michael's), this is the place for you. It carries hip, cool, beautiful, and sophisticated paper supplies. Although it adds up quickly, I found their prices to be surprisingly reasonable.
I gave this store 4 stars because although the staff is generally friendly, I did receive incorrect information on two of their products which required a return trip and I've found the Pasadena store staff to be even friendlier and more informed about their products and paper craft in general (e.g. they gave me great suggestions and turned me on to some cool new products!).
Big plus: They make returns super-easy so anything you buy and don't use can be returned within 30 days (or store credit within 90 days I think).
