The experience is more organic and homestyle here, with shelf upon shelf stocked with both new and used titles. A Malibu Book Nook

There are things about Diesel that are undoubtedly Malibu. Coffee table books and books in general that no one would buy except people who live in Malibu and have money to waste on books that no one will ever read or maybe even look at. But beyond that, they have a great selection of normal books that anyone would want and coffee table books that normal people would actually want. It's a really cozy place, and has a pretty laid-back atmosphere. All the staff seem knowledgable and willing to help. If you're looking for a place to burn some time and check out a book or two. This is a pretty good spot.

Eastside kids no longer have to hoof it all the way out to Malibu (unless you love that PCH traffic). Their SoCal sister location is in Brentwood.
