great service, great place, great lunch spot, incredible management, great middle eastern grill, love hummus, friendly faces
Drive 7 1/2 miles to.
Don't waste your time stopping into this dump!
Arrived at lunch time and there was only two employees serving the customers.
Ordered the Soltani Kabob (approx 20.00). Came with a salad, but I updgraded to a Greek salad for addl 2.00.
Food arrived.
I got two skewers of meat, and what appeared to look like 2lbs of rice. The salad was not Greek. They add what's called 'feta', but it's not Greek Feta; the olives were soggy (not Kalamta). Don't eat the cheese in the salad. It will cause. Also, can you believe they added broccoli to Greek Salad? Oh yeah, and there is no dressing for the Greek Salad. Our drinks sat empty until we had to flag down to waitress for a refill, but by that time we were already set to go. When the issue of the cheese was brought up to our waitress she replied "Oh, Sorry." When brought the issue was brought up to who appeared to be the manager on duty, she said, "Oh Sorry you no like".
Oh yeah Soda's are 2.50 a cup.
Total bill 27.00.
Thumbs definitely down !
TIP : Drive 7 1/2 miles eat to "Shamshiri" in Glendale.
They have great lunch specials compared to spending almost 30.00 Soltani plate and soda.
Great Persian in Pasadena. This is a rare find, especially in this area where Persian food don't even exist and unless you head out to the westside. This is not a formal type restaurant like most others, as a matter of fact it is very basic. You first order your food and they'll bring it to your table when it's ready, this is also good if you're in a hurry. They also have a comfortable and adequate dining area. The kebabs are phenomenal as always, it is nicely seasoned along with the many charred tomatoes, onions and bell peppers. My favorite is the rice, with the aroma of the saffron drizzled all over it which makes it that much better, it's so good I can just eat it alone without the meat! This is a perfect spot if you're a student from Pasadena City College (PCC) as they are located right across the street on Colorado Blvd. This is also a great place to eat with your family since they open 7 days a week.
