Don't ruin your day with Ritz
by PartyPlanners at Citysearch
Stay away! I paid for 130 guests, Ritz supposedly plans for 10 more. 100 show up and Ritz ran out of food! The owner says it was because his food was so good! Only 2 people complimented the chocolate, which he did not make!
They put out water glasses but no water. I had to request another table be set up. No one kept an eye on the food quantity. They did not serve the champagne or cake as expected - the bottles were put on the table and the guests had to get their own cake. I brought everything for the hosted (free) bar, their bartender put out a tip jar! Guests should never have to pay anything at a hosted bar.
Wait, there's more. The first meeting, he screwed up the times and didn't show. Later I tried to reach the same guy but his brother kept calling with his sales pitch, he didn't even know Ritz already had the job.
The day of the party a woman came in asking about the caterer. She had a party 5 months earlier and was still waiting for her deposit to be returned!
The coordinator told one of the guests that they planned for 100 people. My guest informed her that it should be 130. The coordinator pulled out the paperwork and realized she was wrong.
By the way, the owner was no where to be found during or after the party. Supposedly he was the one that went out to get more sausage.
Believe it or not, there is more. But this is certainly enough for you to make a decision on this shoddy business.
Horrible nightmare

The Wedding day, Ethan and I arranged to meet at the reception location at 10am, 10:15 comes and I'm very upset. A Bride has so many other things to worry about, this was very frustrating. I call Ethan and he tells me to go around to the back that someone is there,he was very rude to me.I meet the guy in the back and give him a bag with all the important things, Our cake topper (that took me months to decide on) The cake cutter and server (my grandma gave me and had nicely engraved) and our toasting glasses. I leave there feeling concerned. My Mother in law goes to the reception location later in the day and they are taking flowers from our centerpieces to put on our Wedding Cake, I paid Ethan to make the cake and decorate it and he took flowers from our centerpieces.
we get married and we walk in to the reception We sit down and i notice our glasses are not there, I notice my cake topper is not on the cake and neither are our serving stuff. I find Ethan and he says the guy that he had meet me there did not tell anyone about all of my stuff in the bag all of my Wedding pictures of the cake do not have our cake topper on them. The worst thing was Ethan was not even nice about it. I really feel that Ritz Catering is a bad organization to select on such an important day.Ethan was so careless I would never ever recommend then to anyone, that is why I want to tell my story to whoever will listen.DO NOT i mean DO NOT choose his Brother in Law to be your DJ, what a absolute nightmare. I made a list of the kind of music we wanted and he must of blew his nose with it because he was completely horrible. To top it off I wanted Marvin Gaye "lets get it on" as the last dance and he played "Sexual healing."
I can't say enough how much these guys let me down, please spend your money elsewhere. The food was not even worth mentioning. I got the chicken. Good Luck to anyone who chooses Ritz.
- Pros: The Reception place was nice (nothing to do with Ritz Catering)
- Cons: Customer Service was the worst.
