  1. What ever happened to good food, plain and simple?
  2. What I do know is that I can now say that I've had sushi before, and if you asked me where to go for the best sushi in town, the best, cleanest service and even a little bit of music, I would say you definitely have to go to Koda.
  3. like their spicy tuna rolls.
  4. Was looking for a nice local low key place to relax with a friend and have some really good sushi.
  5. Koda Sushi is a hip sushi restaurant, where you get to enjoy good food and check out cute people in a happening area of Los Feliz.
  6. Tonight we had a hair in our food, a rubberband (no kidding) in our radish, and the fish smelled downright nasty.
  7. Great food and great guitarist on tuesday nights!
  8. Slow service, disappointing food
  9. The sushi this time was excellent.
  10. Otherwise the food was mediocre at best.
  11. The sushi was fresh.
  12. However, I will deal with a little lack of hospitality if the food is good.
  13. I'm not a huge fan of sushi, but every so often I'll get a craving for it and want to go somewhere.
  14. like my spicy tuna.
  15. The sushi here is TERRIBLE.
  16. There are so many good sushi restaurants in this town that this one is not worth your time.
  17. The appetizers are delicious and the sashimi is great!
  18. Starting with the only positive: the vegetable tempura was crisp, light, and cooked in fresh oil.
  19. The fish has always been dry, flavorless, and slightly scary to me.
  20. This is a great low key date spot but the sushi isn't the best in LA.
  21. Our sever recommended the the crispy rice cakes topped with spicy tuna, these were great.

  23. as good as any other quality sushi in L.A. Nothing wrong with the food at all.
  24. Although the atmosphere is nice and the staff kind, the food was disgusting.
  25. When they first opened they were good - nice staff, very tasty food - but it's gone downhill after they got a "C" grade from the county (which the owner hid behind the standing menu - look for the "A").
  26. nice jazz in background, good food and sake, i will defnetely go back there!
  27. We spent 60 dollars on an inedible meal.
  28. Nice vibe, good music (DJ Shadow-esque), friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, good food.

Walked from my home

by hankscott1234

Great sushi and SAKE.

Found this when my car was in the shop which trapped me in my neighborhood. Thank you BMW. Visit this place often and save on gas too.

Staff is super friendly. Fair prices. Clean bathrooms (my gf has an issue).

A great local find.

  • Pros: great sushi
  • Cons: crowded at times

Great sushi in Silverlake.

by llyonize

I recently went to Koda Sushi in Silverlake for dinner. It's a casual place that does not feel pretentious as Silverlake establishments sometimes can be. Our sever recommended the the crispy rice cakes topped with spicy tuna, these were great. We had an oder of gyoza which were cooked perfectly. We then ventured on to the Koda Roll and the spicy ribbon roll...both of which were also topped with spicy tuna...i like my spicy tuna. There were a few other things on the menu I wanted to try, I guess next time when I go back for their sushi happy hour. $4 menu items! I am there.

  • Pros: Parking in the back. Sushi.

Hip Sushi Joint

by danwella

Koda Sushi is a hip sushi restaurant, where you get to enjoy good food and check out cute people in a happening area of Los Feliz. This place has a calm vibe, dim lighting and play old movies on the large wall of the restaurant. Richard the owner is very hands on and friendly as well as his staff who are happy to recommend fan favorites. I highly recommend the Koda and Ribbon rolls.

  • Pros: parking in back

Used to be good, but downright nasty now...

by JBJS

We used to love this place, but it has gone downhill. Tonight we had a hair in our food, a rubberband (no kidding) in our radish, and the fish smelled downright nasty. Not to mention, I'm not sure who you have to sleep with over there for them to get your order right. Also, they are rude when you call to report a problem. Do what you will, but we are done with this place.
