Cheap Easy and YUMMY Korean food in Westwood. Now while it may not look like much from the outside, its all about the food here at Gushi. Everything is prepared fresh, and trust me when I say they definitely do no skimp on the portions.

I ordered the Jap Chae and Holy Shinikes Batman was it intense. I think my plate weighed close to 2 pounds and was packed with tons of veggies and huge chunks of seasoned beef. Definitely worth every cent of that 9 dollar price tag. Not to mention that it also came with a free drink.

My dining partner ordered the kimchee fried rice, which was just as good if not better than my dish. It was perfectly spicy, super flavorfull, and came topped with a fried egg. Definitely a nice touch if you ask me and though we waited a little longer for this dish to come out it was definitely worth the wait.

I would definitely give this place two thumbs up and the only reason I'm holding back on a full 5 star experience is that seating can sometimes be sketchy, parking definitely sucks, and service is a tad slow. Regardless of that, the food is absolutely amazing and I would recommend coming here if are craving some Korean food but don't want to deal with the whole KBBQ experience.

Fast and easy Korean food with the impression and taste of slow-cooking.. The Scene
A quick and easy stop for local UCLA students, the open-patio restaurant faces a busy road and pedestrian sidewalk. With no strong emphasis on scenery, Gushi resembles a still-standing hut with little flair, but genuine care. A domestic touch of potted plants hang from the wooden roof and individual booths are carefully arranged near the light for late-night reading.

The Food
High-quality Korean food is made fast and piled high at this casual eatery. The mainstays on the menu (and on every table) are the meat plates. Choose from beef, pork, or chicken-all are infused with flavor but the crowd favorite is most notably the first. If extra hungry (or just on a taste drive), opt for the Jap Chae Plate as appetizer. The soft glass noodles with vegetables is a light traditional starter and made exceptionally well.

Get the kalbi plate. Every time I walk past Gushi and see people eating anything other than the kalbi plate I feel sorry for them. That is the one and only thing I order there and I crave it all the time. Gushi is even worth the drive around the block in search for an open parking space.

Korean food in Westwood. I think one thing that I really like about Gushi is their huge portions. You get your money's worth. I ordered the bulgogi plate, and my friend ordered the chicken/beef terriyaki plate, and we had a whole day's worth of leftovers. The quality of food is decent considering it's Korean food sold at a stand. It's a good, and pretty much only, place to go (both in proximity and taste) if you're craving Korean food in Westwood.

Cheap, Fast, Filling. pretty good for not having to go all the way to ktown, and a lot cheaper too. great for students on a budget...people seem to like the bulgogi bowl (grilled slightly sweet beef over rice), i recommend the bibimbap (this dish is a delicious mix of everything: rice, sauteed vegetables, grilled meat, and egg, topped with spicy chili paste, you will like it if you like the taste of sesame oil), and the japchae (noodles with beef, like japanese style chow mein i guess) is so good!

it's a little food shack so don't expect 5 star gourmet and ambience at this price.

Fast & fresh Korean food to go!. Not a place for romantic atomosphere, but if you're hungry for good, fresh Korean food, and don't care about the no-decor outdoor seating areas with bums asking you for money, then it's the place to go! It more of a take-out place, overall, good food for for under 7 dollars!

If you're hungry. If you're hungry this place is great! Food comes out quick and the people are nice. Seating is small and outdoors...parking nonexistent unless you find meter parking or valet it for $5 bucks (almost the cost of the meal right there) The place however is a little sketchy. They hid their C grade but later quickly put their B in plain sight...not surprising considering sometimes the meat has that rainbow color in it. Don't get me wrong though, I still eat here and it is yummy.

Perfect for the Hungry Person. Forget the Ambience. This is a place you want to go if you're hungry, want delicious food and don't want to pay a lot. Little more than five bucks will give you enough to last two meals.

Perfect if you're planning to add a second chin.

Delicious food to go. Or eat quickly and hang out in Westwood.

CHEAP LOCAL EATERY. The portions of the boxed meals are made for people with big appetites and shallow pockets.

Great place for a quick and fast yummy meal.
