In Short – This brick building's cavernous dining space is divided into three rooms and an large, oval wooden bar serving a limited menu. Patrons include everyone from society ladies dripping with diamonds to gussied-up UCLA students. Regulars begin with guacamole, spiced to order and prepared tableside. Many guests stick with appetizers and desserts, but entrees include dishes like grilled spicy salmon and New York steak with Cognac-pepper sauce. For dessert, chocolate decadence cake and three cream Sundae with fresh fruit are standouts.
If you have a problem with Gift Cards
by ravenwoods
I had a problem with expiring gift cards and took it up with the owners. If you have gift card which does not have an expiration date printed on the card, and yet they will not honor the card, remind them that the owners have promised to comply with the law, which says that expiring gift cards must have a clearly printed expiration date on the card.
- Pros: good food
- Cons: If you have a problem with Gift Cards
Lovely setting but so-so food
by yoohoo12
We went here for a post-graduation celebration and were a little disappointed. The setting is lovely but the menu was limited and not that special, especially not at those prices. Our waitress was friendly and attentive at first but must have gotten busy because we hardly saw her again after the food arrived. Certain items we ordered were good but most were just average. I wish we'd gone elsewhere for our special occasion.
- Pros: Nice setting, personable staff
- Cons: Slow service, somewhat expensive
Great Menu & ambience
by satnitediner
Mother's Day brunch was very nice, we ordered a variety of dishes, including the Special. The crab cake was delicious with an unusual banana/kiwi salad. The eggs benedict dishes were cooked to perfection.
All hot foods were piping hot and cold dishes were nicely chilled. Service was a bit slow, but it was super busy and crowded. As always seated quickly and were not rushed out - like some restaurants do on a holiday. Valet was great too.
- Pros: Great selections - such variety, Nice servers, Valet Parking
- Cons: Tables are very close together, gets a little noisy, some rooms are very cold.
