Perfect taste, new furnitures, good service – It has been a while since last time I went to this place. I found the owner remodeled this place. The new chairs, tables and the restroom provide an environment well matching the excellent food served. I also noticed an "A "sign on the door. I will come next month to see what will change again. I hope I can find more things that will surprise me.
pitiful really – After reading the reviews, I was eager to try this place. I haven't had good Mongolian BBQ in a while so I thought, "why not?" No offense to the other reviewers. I am glad they seemed to like this place, but I have to tell you, Iwas severely underwhelmed. I was expecting a place with a cool atmosphere, shrimp as well as other higher grade meat cuts, fresh veggies, peppers, and other Asian delicacies, various spices, various sauces, a wall of optional recipes, and a choice of various noodles, or rices. This is what I have had before at a similarly priced Mongolian BBQ joint. No Sir. What I got was a dingy, beaten up dirty looking hole in the wall, a "B" health code rating in the window. Vegetables that looked anything but garden fresh, frozen meat slices, no seafood, no assortments of seasonings, no choice of noodles, and the scintillating choice of "hot" "medium" or "mild" sauce. I went for hot. I cannot imagine what mild must have been. This had very little flavor. The soup was a briney color with cabbage floating in it. It wasn't worth the one taste I gave it. I brought a friend with me and told him how good it was supposed to be (based upon the reviews here and my previous experience with high quality Mongolian BBQ.) I was quite embarrassed, as I usually have the reputation amongst my friends as the guy who always finds the amazing restaurants that are off the beaten path. The only reason I can think that this place makes anyone happy can be summed up in 3 words "starving college student".
best noodles in Westwood – This place has some delicious noodles- think thicker chow mein noodles with more spice and flavor! I can't get enough of it. Remember to pack in the meat until its compactly crushed in the bowl (some places are very strict about crushing meat). Also beware, the hot option is extremely spicy even for me (and I'm used to eating spicy food on a daily basis). The place isn't the most spotless or newly-renovated, but if the food's this good, I don't really mind too much.
Great Mongolian Food – I've been to a few Mongolian BBQ places but this one is by far the best one. Load up your bowl with as much meat as you can pack in with your fist, then top it off with fresh veggies and let the man at the end of the line make it spicy or mild. Then watch him cover that with more noodles than you could eat. Watch them cook it on that giant circular cooker and enjoy. Make sure to tip the guy a buck, not everyone can handle those giant chop sticks like that.
good for when you really need to fill up – About 9 bucks for a bowl and a drink.
good fun and food. – i went with a couple of friends and we tried to see who could smash the most food into their bowl. its fun fast and tastes great. good place to go with a small group when youre tired of dorm food and just need to get out but then realize you dont have any money. plus, its excuse to go into westwood for some stan's and (or??) diddy's afterwards.
i like mine with a lot of noodles and pineapple. watch the spices--theyre hott.
SO TASTYYYYY – Machiavelli must've been acting like a frat boy to NOT be able to take advantage of the All You Can Fill. This place has GREAT mongolian bbq... ugh... just thinkin about it's making me hungry! and i just ate lunch!!!!!
Not so great anymore – The food is excellent as ususal but don't expect all-you-can-fill anymore. When I was filling my bowl with the noodles, one of the staff grabbed it out of my hands, citing the new policy the manager had backed up. Needless to say, I was so embarrassed and will never go back there again.
So good – Everytime i go there i come out full and with tons of energy. Great ppl and atmosphere. Ive been going there since i was young.
I absolutely love it here! – Simply great. My husband and I've been going there ever since we were dating. First, as you walk in, you see the cooks cooking the food on this gigantic round pan with this cool looking gigantic chopsticks. As you go in to order, you can see people putting fresh meat, vegies, and noodle into their bowls. Finally, when you get to the cashier, you'll find friendly people greeting you. I would also say this place is a 'all-you-can-fit-in-your-bowl' place. Enjoy!
