YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME, NO RETURNS?

You got to be kidding me! That's basically what my reaction was when I went to return a defective color hairspray at Aahs on November 3, 2008. I purchased the item on October 31, 2008; The store was packed and the lines were long. Since I only have a few more minutes before returning to work I hurried to grab an orange temporary hairspray and didn't get a chance to check the product until I got home at 6pm, I live in the Valley by the way. I called my kids to spray their hairs...What? NO NOZZLE! Oh well, I told my kids, we can go without this year....

Anyway, I don't care about the $. I just wish that Indian lady at the counter could have offerred to replaced it or give me a store credit or something...but no! She was toughed! "ALL SALES ARE FINALS, NO RETURNS" And so she says... I left the spray can on the counter with the receipt and left upset.

This is partly my fault for missing to read the signs if there was any, hard to see with all the people pushing and shoving just to get through...I should have checked what I purchased....For sure, I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE...In fact, I started spreading the news to all my co-workers.

random gifts

I visited Aah's a bunch of times randomly when I'd be strolling around in Westwood... it's definitely an interesting shop (lots of gag gifts, trinkets, etc), and its the ideal place to just window shop. They go all out for holidays, especially Halloween when they have a huge selection of costumes (though the packaged outfits are quite expensive). They have a range of random items (Family Guy/Simpsons paraphernalia to baby clothes with humorous sayings).

• Pros: range of gifts, gag gifts, trinkets
• Cons: a bit tacky

Good for gifts, costumes

I get all my costume supplies for sorority events here. They have a great selection, but be prepared- they only have full costumes during Halloween. The store on Wilshire has a wider range of costumes. Good for gag gifts too!

• Cons: Full costumes only during Halloween
