Overlooking the famous Sonny Bono statue in Mercado Plaza, this upscale bistro pleases both the 20-something drinking crowd and the more mature diner with carefully crafted cocktails, chargrilled burgers and even steak and seafood selections. It's really the pizza that has made this Washington D.C. transplant a desert favorite, though. Burning at over 800-degrees, their masonry oven continuously returns crisp and flaky pies night after night. Toppings range between spicy home-made meatballs, Italian sausage and roasted red peppers to milder vegetables, portabella mushrooms and artichoke hearts.
