DONT WASTE MONEY HERE – I came here at 17:00 Sunday 19th of Dec 2010. I was served (or rather not served) by Nenna (manager on staff btw). After my first drink she asked "Were you watching the game somewhere else?" to which I stated "No. I hate football." She had then determined that I had too much to drink and refused to serve me alcohol. I will meet with the GM Rene tomorrow to see what she has to say but so far I'm completely offended I wasn't proving a nuisance or being loud I was drinking my Kettle One and Tonic and eating delicious seasoned French Fries while I discussed skiing with the patron sitting to my left. Thanks Nenna! You have ruined a convenient destination in my own neighborhood!
Outstanding and highly recomended! – I went here recently and it was so good I decided to share my experience.
The food here is very good.
The Martinis can't be beat and service is outstanding.
The manager even dropped by our table to introduce himself and make sure everything was alright.
Anyone who has written a bad review on this place is misleading you. They apparently must have a personal vendetta as I have been to many restaurants in LA and this visit was an excellent experience.
The interior has a cool hip lounge vibe.
This is not a upscale overpriced restaurant.
I highly recommend you stop by for dinner or drinks or both!
The worst experience – I normally don't write bad reviews but this one was over the limit.They overcharged me by $200 after a $30 dollar bill.I told the on the spot and they accused me of lying, even after I called the bank and told them that the charge was made, they refused to give me the money back or even to void the charge.the owner was really rude and the waitress had the nerve to get mad because I left no tip, did she really expect a tip after they stole $200 from me?DO NOt go there, the service is the worst and they have a really bad atittude when they make the mistake, it has been a week and the bank had to solve the problem because they never did and wanted to keep my money.they are thiefs that WILL take your money if you are not paying attention, and when you catch them they accuse you instead of apologizing.The worst, I will never go there again, it is not the first time I hear the same thing happening there so please take care of your money and go somewhere else.
torn: Great drinks, horrible service – The plus at Lucy's: The drinks. The key lime pie martini is out of the world. The bar staff knows how to make any kind of drink you can dream up and they're moderately priced.
The negative: The service. I went with a group of 10 for apps and drinks. We all placed our orders and about half receieved their food, not including me. We asked the waitress where the rest was and she said she had forgotten to place them. About twenty minutes later 3 more dishes appeared but mine was still AWOL. An hour later she appeared with the fries that were ice cold. When I told her that we couldn't eat them, she shrugged, took them away and still charged us. That's only after spilling my drink, handing me a dirty towel to clean it up and walking away.
If I go back I'm only sitting at the bar. And that's a big if.
Lacking Customer Appreciation – A family member recommended this place for his birthday and considering I value his opinion, we were excited to experience Lucy's 51. However, the managers have zero customer appreciation as they allowed our car to be illegally towed.
Their neighbor (another store owner) was given allowance to park in their "Lucy's 51 Private Parking" area - we guess because of a festival which had been going on that day December 4, 2009. Our car was double-parked behind this other store owner's car (as were many others around us, leading us to assume this was ok - in addition, there was no sign posted stating otherwise). Our car was then towed not more than an hour after our arrival following little to no attempt made to find us.
The manager could have easily muted the music for 1 minute to make an announcement to me and I would have gladly moved it. Instead, the manager argued with me about how it was my fault for parking behind the store owner even though there were no signs posted saying I could not park there. The only sign posted said the lot was where I was supposed to park. How is someone supposed to go out to enjoy a few drinks with friends without being worried about having their car illegally towed? The manager proceeded to do nothing to help me and refused to reimburse me for my troubles. I will never go to this establishment again. The lack of customer appreciation is appalling.
By the way, the food is overpriced, the decor tacky, and the service mediocre.
A great experience – Went for the first time today at lunch. Had the calamari appetizer and the turkey club. The calamari was perfect. Nice and crispy with more of a deep fried texture than a tempura. Nice amount of herbs and spices. It came with 2 sauces and both were good. The sandwich was nice and large with large slices of avocado and smoked bacon. TONS of very thin cut crisp fries came with it.
The bartender mentioned that they hired a new chief a few months back and I have to say it was a nice move!
The wait staff was really nice as was the bartender, D. They also had a DJ quietly doing an internet radio show which the dining crowd got a kick out of. They were playing the stream in the restaurant. I think it was martini in the morning or something... Pretty good jazz and big band stuff...
4.5 stars for sure

Some of the reviews above are OUTRIGHT LIES possibly from bitter or jilted individuals or people trying to destroy the business. Go judge for yourself. Mo and Michael are two very friendly top notch bartenders.
Richard took a struggling old looking restaurant and turned it into a classy looking popular restaurant and lounge. Before the economy went down hill and the writer's strike last year, this was one super hot and packed place. It has stayed busy now even in a down economy.
For guys and girls alike there are many good looking people who hang out here obviously more so on nights like friday night. No BS doorman stuff like in Hollywood. I give this place a big thumbs up and I have been to many restaurants and clubs in LA. Go check it out!
Richard Disisto is a con artist with many issues, including racial, and doesn't deserve our money – What a shithole this place has become over the past year after they got rid of Rican. So now we're left with "owner" Richard Disisto, one of the biggest a-holes and con artists ever to slither out of New York. The food is way overpriced - and it's not even good anymore since they got rid of their chef. The drinks are outrageously expensive. The clientele is an aging assortment of losers and never-weres. Bring back Rican. Bring back the nice vibe that was there a year or so ago. Get rid of all the nasty biotches, both male and female.
is this place still open ??? – Went to this place for the first time the other night .. food was beyond awful and really expensive. They are desperately trying to be "Lola's in the Valley" with their martini list ... more of a Martini miss if you ask me. Our friend knew the owner ... some pompus little guy trying very hard to be "New Yorkie" ... I say 2 thumbs down. Not worth the trip over the hill ... or down your driveway for that matter.
This place leaves me feeling conflicted... – Here's the deal. The staff is great and the place is cool. But when did this place get so damn expensive! Their burgers, which are small, are $14! They taste okay, but not $14 great. Mo's down the street is better. Plus, it gets so loud the later it gets, that you have to shout. The garlic fries and apps are delicious but everything else hurts your ears and your wallet. We don't mind spending some money, but since when did this place become French 75 (which is now defunct)? That should be a clue...
