SUPER COOL!!! Friday night is Punk, Reggae,Ska night!. Finally I found a real palce in Los Angeles, excellent music and very cool and nice people!!

No line, no velvet rope, no entrance fee, no stupid dress codes, only good music and good people!

I go there only on Friday night, the dj spins awesome old school punk, ska and reggae!!

I hope to find more places like La Cita in LA!!

SUPER HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!

TRENDY WARNING: This place is the farest thing compared to the Hollywood scene, if you hate Hollywood and mainstream music, you'll love La Cita!

Didnt know the dudes at short stop owned it. Awesome party! easy access from the redline (its right behind pershing square) awesome tunes and good vibes. i went on a friday and the place was packed! reminded me a lot of the short stop but with a more gritty feel if that means anything, go now!

Mexican dive bar goes hipster. As you speed by the old Angel's Flight and Grand Central Market, you'd never guess how much fun there is to be had at La Cita. The Mexican theme lives on, while a young and fun crowd PACKS the bar. The music is funky and people shake their groove thing on the medium sized dance floor. There is a good amount of open seating and tables, and also a large patio in the back (smokers are welcome). If you love to party it up on the Eastside/downtown, this is a great place to stop by.

the place to be down town. La Cita bar on 336 Hill st. down town is an amazing spot that speaks for it self. Get over the "down town is too far" mentality and check out this must see bar. The outside may be a little too rustic for your taste but don't let the half lit florescent sign fool you. Once you get in you'll know why it's become one of the most popular nightspots down town. The music is always danceable and the wood floor just beyond on the bar has seen a million ways to cut a rug, feel free to show it a million and one. The people in this place are trend setters and they could care less. Everyone is friendly and most of them beautiful. The staff professional and efficient i can't get enough of La Cita. Rumor has it the back patio will be open not just for smoking but for drinking as well very soon.

Popular downtown dive bar gets a trendy facelift from the owners of Echo Park's Short Stop.. In Short
It's amazing what a kitschy remodel and influx of KCRW-listening Westside hipsters can do. The interior still feels refreshingly cheesy, with ceiling-strung Christmas tree lights, red circular booths and mirrored artwork hanging throughout the bar and dance floor. Red lights and tiki-style lanterns lend an intimate shade of light to Heineken-ordering faces and disgruntled locals displaced by downtown gentrification. Weeknights feature indie-style DJs spinning eclectic groove, while weekends still entertain Latin music-minded locals for salsa and ranchera-style dancing.
