What People Are Saying About Thai Patio

Featured Review

In Short – Third in a chain of locations including the Grove and Monterey Park, this stylish Thai spot looks to compete in Hollywood's Thai Town at the original Palms Thai spot. New decor is clean and modern yet retains traditional elegance with pale blond wood furnture, Thai paintings and sleek black bar. Noodles, soups, salads and curry standards prologue a specialty list of "exotic things" like quail, wild boar, frog legs with green peppercorns and other items hauntingly similar to those of its predecessor.

Editor's Tips

Save Money:
Lunch special runs daily from 11am to 5pm, with items such as Thai BBQ chicken, yellow curry tofu and beef with spicy basil for under $5.
Where to Sit:
For lounge-y relaxation, settle into one of the few sidewalk tables, which offer big cushioned bamboo chairs and market umbrellas, perfect for an icy Singha beer and fish cakes.
When to Go:
Traditional Thai dancing and folk music are performed live Thursday through Sunday evenings.

Thai Patio

by kellik

First and last time I'll ever come to this place. Don't get me wrong, the food was decent but the service was horrible. I ordered the pad thai (yech cliche) and the crispy spicy catfish. The pad thai turned out amazingly delicious or maybe I was just hungry, but the catfish was just too salty. We had to flag down different waiters everytime we wanted something.

Our waitress was MIA so we asked another waitress for an order of fried rice for takeout and she just looked at us like she didn't want to serve us. I had to ask her if it was alright for us to order with her or wait for our waitress. Maybe she sensed that I was getting pissed and took down our order but kept on giving my mother weird looks thorought our meal. The other waitresses were nice though, except for that cow but still ain't coming back. Bleh.

  • Pros: food was acceptable
  • Cons: Service

We love this place

by valifornia

We love Thai Patio -- after a trip to Thailand a few years ago, it's one of the only Thai restaurants we've found that mirrors what we got in Bangkok. The service is friendly and reliable, the menu is large, and the food is really great, not to mention pretty cheap. If it weren't such a schelp for us, we'd be here a lot more often!

  • Pros: Great food, good prices, good entertainment
  • Cons: A bit of a schlep

Great food, Amazing prices, Quality service...... and Good Entertainment

by covinaraider

Found this place by accident, but what a great surprise...... Excellent food, $27 for dinner for 2 (before tip, w/ dessert.......) Valet Parking and live entertainment.... They serve food well into the late hours, and they do not rush you at all. It was a comfortable date spot, as the music was not over bearing. The eggplant and basil was perfect..... try it with the steamed fish, it melts in your mouth. Nothing fancy, not pretentious, just good food and good service..... That's all I'm asking for.

  • Pros: Great value, large portions, excellent quality, valet parking
  • Cons: Not a fancy spot, parking lot can be a bit crowded.
