Ghosts of Frank Sinatra, Gregory Peck and Julia Phillips may still be lingering over the legendary old Le Dome space, but they're making room for the modern Hollywood elite who now fill their reupholstered VIP booths. The name stands for Bistro Laurent Tourondel, not the sandwich, and it's a sister spot of the chef's acclaimed New York flagship. A crush of young Armani-clad agents, "ER" heartthrobs and pop star wannabes punctuate the caramel-toned banquettes and Macassar ebony tables, but the bustling see-and-be-seen lounge at the entrance and long raw bar showcases a lot more meat than the…

Editor's Tips

Where to Sit:
The covered sidewalk patio overlooks Sunset Boulevard and is a great way to escape the inside bustle, especially on weekends.
The Extras:
A spacious, elegant back room adjacent to the wine vault seats up to 20 guests for private events.
What to Drink:
The wine list is impressive and features a dozen by-the-glass selections. Signature cocktails like the rhubarb mule have spa overtones with an underlying kick. The beer selection is also noteworthy, featuring Avery White Rascal and AleSmith Anvil.

  2. Prompt and professional service, excellent food on highest quality standard, perfectly trained staff, wonderful atmosphere.

  4. really enjoyed the atmosphere and food of this place.
  5. The decor is warm and beautiful, PERFECT for a romantic evening, or a nice evening with friends and family.
  6. great atmosphere!
  7. The volume is loud, the crowd beautiful, and the decor simple but classy.
  8. Great steaks and a fun scene
  9. The atmosphere is great and all people we came in contact with were friendly and courteous.
  10. The decor and ambiance is great on the Sunset Strip.
  11. Although the restaurant has great atmosphere the food just doesn't measure up to Cut, STK, Mastros or even Wolfgang's.
  12. BLT is a great location and great vibe, you feel as if you are in New York with the hustle and bustle of conversation, wait staff running back and forth with delicious looking plates of sliced meat appetizers, cast iron skillets with 40-ounce steaks, seaf
  13. was very excited to go to this fabulous location only to get disappointed on every level possible.

  1. not huge portions for the dessert.
  2. engorge ourselves further on a free chocolate desert. Who am I to resist? Meanwhile, Greg and Laura shot mean looks at Melissa? I even sat next to a really cool Hip-Hop music producer type who ordered bottle after bottle of Champagne and ate the entire me
  3. Oh and I suggest starting with the crab cake & tuna tartare (both wonderful!)
  4. It was pricey however you do get lots of little goodies from the chef along the way - chicken liver pate(superb), popovers (cheesy yorkshire puddings), and the most amazing molten chocolate cookie/brownie things PLUS you get a goody bag of cakes to take h
  5. Our waiter brought us out warm dollops of (what I think was) chocolate chip cookie dough with the check and we were all over the moon.
  6. The dessert was amazing.
  7. We split a sundae for dessert and at first was disappointed with the raspberry ice cream, but the orange ince cream was delicious, unfortunately it was on the bottom and had already melted a little but it was worth digging for.

  1. You can do the fresh seafood bar - fresh, impeccable - near the front of the restaurant, sit outside, or settle in at one of tables, especially in the back , for a long night of guilty pleasure (aged steaks can be pricey, but are ridiculously good ).
  2. The wine sommelier was very helpful and the popovers were amazing but that is where it all ended.
  3. So I went with friends on a thursday night and it was pretty busy, but the hostess was excellent and we didn't wait. Service was very good and the menu is interesting (expensive as hell, but that's to be expected). There?s a lively bar scene with the usua

  1. would not recommend BLT until it has reached the one (1) year mark, as I appreciate being treated with greater respect and enjoy getting my moneys worth for overpriced food.
  2. OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious.
  3. The hash browns were really crispy on the inside but way too undercooked on the inside and onion rings looked so good but fell flat as well.
  4. Fantastic mushrooms, hash browns, and oh, those onion rings are out of ths world.
  5. We all loved the food but felt uncomfortable sitting there long because some of the employees kept staring at us - including the gentleman wearing a suit (maybe the manager?
  6. If you want a treat, go with a few people, order appetizers and side dishes, and if you're okay w/o an entree it can be a pleasant meal that's not outrageously priced.
  7. The bread they brought out was so delicious.
  8. we had the american kobe skirt steak which was good, but had a garlic/parsley garnish on top which was somewhat overwhelming (was not mentioned on the menu, probably would have had it left off).
  9. Prompt and professional service, excellent food on highest quality standard, perfectly trained staff, wonderful atmosphere.
  10. However, the steaks were extremely disappointing!
  11. The service is horrible and the food was tasteless except for the oysters which were a little too tasty as in not fresh and fishy.
  12. The most memorable side dishes were the creamy spinach, potato gratin and onion rings.
  13. It was cooked perfectly and every bite was delicious.
  14. We ordered the Rib Eye steak @ $45 and also the Braised Short Ribs both meats were tasteless!
  15. They ended our meal with little brownie bites - delicious!
  16. We figured we would try it again last night and the meal was absolutely horrible on so many levels.
  17. This is a great place for eating steak and enjoying original dishes.
  18. The food is again amazing.
  19. The corn, creamed spinach and fries were good.
  20. After being seated, we were provided with a complimentary chicken liver pate with toasts - very savory and flavorful.
  21. The mashed potato, the sauteed carrots and tuna tar tar were exceptionally good.
  22. So as an avid diner of fine cuisine, it has all the makings of what would appear to be a great dinning experience.
  23. All and all it was a pretty disappointing experience and we all wished we had stayed at BLD and given them a try especially since they boast a completely fresh menu daily.
  24. Definitely worth a look - great steaks and plenty of eye-candy.
  25. Great steaks and a fun scene
  26. Maybe if you enjoy cold $80 steak
  27. The complimentary chicken liver pate with little toasts was flavorful and generous, and they looked to have solved the water issue noted by another reviewer as we were offered ice water straight off (I dont know whether we were charged for the ice water a
  28. Although the restaurant has great atmosphere the food just doesn't measure up to Cut, STK, Mastros or even Wolfgang's.
  29. While it had a nice crusty outer coating, the steak itself was devoid of flavor and somewhat chewy (although my partner liked it), and for $85 I expected much better.
  30. What a great meal!
  31. Ribeye steak with bone marrow - well cooked, flavorful, tender piece of meat; the bone marrow was a nice bonus (great on the toast).
  32. So I went with friends on a thursday night and it was pretty busy, but the hostess was excellent and we didn't wait. Service was very good and the menu is interesting (expensive as hell, but that's to be expected). There?s a lively bar scene with the usua

  53. We also ordered stone crab claws, but since our waiter didn't know that the kitchen had previously 86'd them, we switched to a shrimp cocktail instead; good shrimp but the cocktail sauce was more like a spicy barbeque sauce than a cocktail sauce.
  54. really enjoyed the atmosphere and food of this place.
  55. the popover buns were awesome, food was excellent although portions were quite small.
  56. was pretty disappointed with the meal and If you want a truly wonderful steak restaurant experience, MASTRO'S is the place to try!

Great steaks and a fun scene

by BearTree

Fun place for a night out on the town. Steaks were great...mine came perfectly prepared. Appetizers and main courses were generous, but the side dishes were remarkably small (especially mashed potatoes).

Menu is quite large with lots of fun items on it...I'd go again!

  • Pros: good food, attentive management
  • Cons: noisy, sides are small
