I've had massages at other Pasadena
spas, including some of its more celebrated spots like Burke Williams and Amadeus, but you can't beat the value of Sunny Day. This place is my favorite.
Specials vary, but it's always inexpensive and I've consistently found its services to be high-quality. Right now, one hour runs $35. This is a sixty minute hour, as opposed to a fifty minute treatment. The staff members are focused and attentive. They do great work, particularly with deep tissue, though the therapists each have their own styles and strengths.
I have a bad shoulder and work nearby, so when the pain gets bad I duck into Sunny Day on my lunch break. I go in for this treat about once every other week, and have enjoyed working with Jolin in particular, though I've had great massages from Fiona and Amy as well.
If you go regularly, I suggest trying different therapists until you find a good match. This is a humble place, and if you go regularly, they'll remember you and take care of you. The business is clean and legitimate, but nothing fancy. You're paying for the massage, and you get your money's worth.
