Editorial Review for Chakra – by Martha Burr
In Short
Bright-hued silks and lanterns, wood, stone and a dramatic waterfall mix Near Eastern romance with a mod flair throughout the bar, patio, dining room and curtained semiprivate banquette booths. Northern and Southern Indian regional specialties put an elevated spin on tandoories and curries, offering dishes such as Masala scallops, spinach fritters with black salt potatoes, tiger prawns with pomegranate, lamb biryani, and sea bass with coconut and curry leaves.

My husband took me to Chakra (Beverly Hills) to celebrate my Birthday . Trust me they made it as memorable as it could be!!! As we entered, we loved the upscale ambience, not something you find in the Indian restaurants in US. We went for tasting by chef which included a 5 course meal after the chef (Mel Oza) came and talked to us about our likes and dislikes making us feel as special guests of honor. Each course was presented with utmost style and tasted heavenly just like it looked. We being vegetarians, find the usual restaurants serving the same old boring menu which anyway I can cook better at home. But chef Mel's awesome 5 course meal still has us raving about it in every gathering and first place that comes to our mind whenever someone asks for a great Indian restaurant. We were entertained for almost couple of hours with everyone's personal attention and finally were surprised with a sweet little cake to make the whole experience all the more special. If you are looking for a wonderful experience for you b'day, anniversary of valentines day, believe me, don't even think about any other place, Chakra (Beverly Hills) is the place....and forget the price.... its worth whatever you spend there....all you remember is the wonderful experience once you leave.... P.S. The person who has given a single rating must be out of his mind...We are through and through desi food lovers and were amazed by the heavenly tasting fusion....
Pros: Unique menu unlike the boring limited options in all the usual indian restaurants.
Cons: Loved everything !!!

We reached there at 9:45 pm,after having a hard time finding the place. They were about to close, but offered to let us come in and said they will be open for us.How nice! They never rushed us to order, kept checking on us through the course of the meal.We did not order dessert, but they gave us a complimentary dessert from the chef, who made it for us and left, since it was too late.. All in all, good experience,I definitely recommend Paneer Pave there..stay away from the appetizers!
Pros: Ambience,Hospitality,Vegetarian options
Cons: bad appetizers,overpriced,not spicy
