C-L-O-S-E-D. Now closed and "For Lease" sign hanging outside.

Let's hope somone bring something new to the neighborhood that can be considered outsanding and will be rewarded for it!

Bait and Switch. What a shock we had when we walked into the new Scarboni (after someone recommended us to the old Scarboni) to find a downscale Italian restaurant. Since we were starving, we stayed- which was our first mistake. Expecting to have good steaks and lobster, only to be offered spagetti and meatballs- disappointed is the only adjective I can think of. The waiter did not pay enough attention to us. He raved about a bottle of Pinot that had a terrible after taste. He then pursuaded us to have the pizza b/c the dough is flown in from New York. The pizza tasted like any other pizza. Our orders were mixed up- Chicken came when it should have been shrimp. They changed the menu last Tuesday and we happened to come the week it changed. It is clear that the waitstaff (of 1 person) and the kitchen were not ready for this change. Skip it.

This swank space exudes an old-time New York steakhouse feel, with white tiled floors, gleaming dark wood, luxurious deep red booths and vintage '40s fixtures. Sinatra croons upbeat tunes as owner (and former Palm maitre d') Tommy Saboni exuberantly greets well-heeled Westside patrons. Black-and-white clad servers scurry attentively carrying classic Italian specialties, retro favorites and of course, lobster and steaks. Popular dishes include baked clams oregonata, lobster club sandwich, veal parmesan, shrimp scampi, Sicilian style baked rigatoni, whole Maine lobster, filet mignon and prime rib.

Decent steak. We went to eat here because my friend saw the place on "What About Brian". The steaks are pretty good. I had the NY steak (~$40), a friend had the filet minon (~$40) and someone else had the lobster ravioli. We all liked our food. The filet minon came out a little overcooked but the waiter had no problem bringing out a new one. The portions were big.

A terrible experience in both service and food. A real loser.. Finally, a great prime steak house in Santa Monica, near to where I live without having to travel across town to the Palm or Mortons. So I wished. We arrived at 7:00 PM and were immediately seated in a very nice booth. The place was empty. So far good. We ordered cocktails that arrived in OK time. A bottle of wine was ordered only to find out that they were sold out about 10 minutes later. They suggested another which we agreed to. We ordered dinner and when the food arrived, they had split a porterhouse steak and ruined it so it was sent back. The waiter then got nasty and I said that he didn't need to act like a thug. He was ready to strike me. The owner came over and we told him about the waiters attitude and that we were not pleased with the service or the food. The waiter suggested that he buy us another bottle of wine and my friend said OK, just bring us the same one. They were now out of that wine and brought us something else. My daughter had scallops which were small and just three to an order for $28.00. Upon arriving home she got sick and got rid of those scallops. On a one to ten for service, they get a ZERO.

On to the food they get a 3. Salad wedge with two tomato slices at $10.00 was pricy considering they did not give enough dressing and if you wanted blue cheese crumbles add another $2.00. I had requested anchovies but they never arrived. $9.00 for a side of sauteed onions is just outrageous. My New York steak arrived medium rare but for $40.00 it was over priced for what looked like a 12 oz steak that had lots of fat and grissle. The porterhouse that was returned because they split it wrong was returned about 15 minutes later after we offered the other couple half of our steak but theirs arrived raw. It was an insult. Baked potato for $9.00. The waiter was simply nasty the entire evening and let us know that we are not welcome to return. A total rip off in my opinion. They will be gone shortly. Too bad. Boa is still great.

Okay but way overpriced.. This place is way overpriced. What are they thinking? The steaks are decent but for a lot less money you can get just as good a steak at places like George Petrelli's in Culver City or Taylor's Steak House in Koreatown and Montrose. You can get a decent meal here but why go here?

wow. 1 of the best meals ive ever had high price but worth every penny serv. was great they take good care of ya .i wish i lived here i would eat here all the time. cant wait to get back to try more of there menu.

Good but overpriced tourist trap steakhoouse.. Everything is done fairly well here but the prices are off the charts. Only tourists would pay these prices. The steaks are good but not exceptional. For less money you can get a better steak at a number of other steakhouses. Just as an example, the porterhouse, which is really just a single person sized steak was $52 which included only the steak. Add a salad and side (which also bear hefty prices) and your tab is running quite high even without alcohol. If you're going to spend this kind of money, why not go to Mastro's or Wolfgang Puck's Cut Restaurant in Beverly Hills, where you will get food of exceptional quality, rather than food that is just fairly good. This being said, the food is fairly good and if the prices don't bother you then you should have a decent meal.
