good drinks, great spot, great atmosphere, great place, nice door people, super friendly door staff, excellent service
Great Place. My friends and I had to leave Eastside luv,....too crowded. We ended up at Bordello and I wish we would have just went there in the first place. It's a very cool setting I kept thinking "this would be a great place for a first date! Lots of little private areas! Loved the look and the staff is very friendly. I can't wait to go back there. I would never go there by myself ,....the parking is a little scary. They have a burlesque show on Sunday's.
Go with a group of friends. Not the safest area for walking to/from your car..
Go with a group and carpool. Parking is very difficult. The street parking is dark. We had to park far away. Drinks are strong. Door staff is friendly. Sunday night 1/13/08 there was a violent attack on a woman in the area (Banning and Center). Will go back if they have ever have valet parking. The entire area is confusing because of road construction and hard to read street signs.
Used to be "Little Pedro's".
Best unknown bar in LA. What a great spot to check out. Easy to locate and the atmosphere was great. From the front doormen to the bartenders, you just got a feeling of being yourself without all of the hype. Great diverse crowds and great drinks. I first went for a friend's b-day and have continued to go since. And for it being a bar type place, I had one of the best Mojitos there in my life. Just enough of all of the ingredients to make it one the best places to check out in LA.
burlesque bar in downtown. this place is hot. the female bartenders are all dressed in bettie-page style fashion, and can serve up a strong drink to match. they have cabaret shows here most nights during the weekend. after the shows, stay for a drink. or 3.
One of L.A.'s oldest and most beloved neighborhood bars reopens as a brothel-themed live music lounge..
In Short
On a gritty strip in the Little Tokyo-adjacent area thus far untouched by gentrification, the former Little Pedro's space has been transformed back to its 19th century roots, when it first operated as a brothel. The goth-style space embraces its history with scarlet-red walls and a cathedral-like stage area with crystal chandeliers and gilded woodwork. The space is now used as a live music lounge for budding local musicians and the hipsters that follow, along with flashbacks to earlier eras with bands like Royal Crown Revue.
Cool Deco and crowd. Finding it was a cinch since its the only place in that little corner area. We got there pretty late though maybe around 12:30, the cover was 10 for the night but they let us in for 5 bucks for our group of 4 which was cool. The door people were nice and not snobby. The decor inside was really cool, all red lights with chandeliers and huge mirrors. The girls behind the bar were in burlesque attire and very attentive. The bar got really packed and it was hard to get a drink at one point but once we got one and got settled it was all good. the bartenders were very nice and drinks are well priced, we got 5 drinks for 27 bucks and they were stiff! I defnitely wanna go back since they have all sorts of bands and music. Its worth a visit!!
A gem waiting to be discovered....!. This bar is sure to become very popular in the near future. Why? The decor is unbelievable, the service is excellent, and it's unlike anything available in downtown L.A. The decor is reminiscent of something you would find in the victorian era. It's a little out of the way, but well worth the trip. Trust me, as soon as you set foot inside this bar, you know you're in for something refreshingly different. By the way, the entrance is on Vignes (though the address is 901 E. 1st street).
Really Comfortable. Loved it! Good drinks and fair price, beautiful setting, friendly people, a lot of fun, not a club but a definate place to go hang out. A Must see!
