Quick Peek

David Drayton and his young son Billy are among a large group of terrified townspeople trapped in a local grocery store by a strange, otherworldly mist. David is the first to realize that there are things lurking in the mist--deadly, horrifying things--creatures not of this world. Survival depends on everybody in the store pulling together, but is that possible, given human nature? As reason crumbles in the face of fear and panic, David begins to wonder what terrifies him more: the monsters in the mist or the ones inside the store, the human kind, the people that until now had been his friends and neighbors?

If you want suspenseful, creepies creepies creepies!!! this is the movie for you. A friend and I went to see it, and I don't think her paper napkin left her face once. I lace my fingers over my eyes for protection, myself--it's much more effective.... Very suspenseful movie, and you wonder, what is worse, the alien, bug-monsters outside, or the "human" monsters inside the store? The movie followed Mr. King's book up until the end, when it went for the easy way out. I understand why they did it that way, however--Americans want 'closure' to their movies, and gripe when they have a "You Pick It" ending (like the story the Lady or the Tiger), or something that happens in the unknown future. Good movie, though.... one of the best Stephen King movies I've seen.

Pros: Acting, soundtrack, special effects, VERY suspenseful

Cons: Ending was the O. Henry type

I am an avid fan of Stephen King. I enjoyed reading this short story and this movie, except for the ending, is identical to the story. It kept me on the edge of my seat with my husband's sleeve up to my eyes the whole time. There was never a moment where I felt the movie got boring or lagged in action or suspense. Every scene built itself upon the previous one until you get to the very end...and at that point you will see what happens. Its awesome....

Pros: suspensful plot, lots of action, likable characters,

Cons: unlikeable characters and situations
