In Short – Tucked into the corner of a small mini-mall, this quiet spot offers al fresco dining amid olive trees, market umbrellas and lavender. Inside, the elegant room feauters restored 1930s wood beams arching above white walls with old-time sepia photos. Glass lamps and floor-to-ceiling wine racks frame a genteel South Pass crowd, as cool jazz sets a relaxed mood. Sophisticated dishes include ricotta stuffed with zucchini blossoms, seared dayboat scallops, Santa Barbara sea bass, vegetarian basil risotto, crispy-skin chicken and flat iron steak.
Best breakfast in South Pasadena

Mike and Anne's has the best breakfast in town. Pancakes are yummy. Cooked my eggs perfecttly and I am fussy. Love the atmosphere inside and outside eating. My favorite restaurant.
- Pros: food, ambiance, service
Great local place to start the weekend

This has become a regular place for my husband and I to meet while our daughter is at her writing tutor's. We'll often share a couple of appetizers at the bar and check in with each other. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the dishes we've had--drawing a blank.
We've take friends from out of town to show off a bit of South Pasadena, and everyone has been satisfied with the service and the food. And these are people from San Francisco and Chicago, who like to eat well.
So, I recommend it! As for service, I have had no problems, personally. Perhaps because we are regulars? Don't know.
- Pros: indoor and outdoor, as well as space that is a bit of both.
- Cons: Could improve their reception of guests as they arrive for a table.
ok food and TERRIBLE service

My wife and I went to Mike and Anne's Restaurant for breakfast on a recommendation. Remind me to sm@ck around the source. Anyhow, we get there around 10am and were sitted promptly, then our "slick" waiter comes over thinking he was impressing us with his french accent... WRONG!!! We placed our order and about 25minutes later our food comes out and is wrong. It took them 10 mins to correct our order. Mind you this whole time our waiter has not come back to our table, I eventually had to flag him down just to get refills of water. We even had to walk our own check up to the front because we got tried of waiting for someone to come pick it up. The food is ok and the service is terrible. This resturant is walking distance from my home but needless to say I will not be coming back.
- Pros: location
- Cons: Food and Service

Monday and Tuesday are corkage-free if the wine is bought at Mission Wines just up the street. Otherwise, it's $10. The restaurant wine list featuers European and West Coast bottles.
Where to Sit:
Window seats beside the plate glass and wrought iron wall afford a pretty view of the garden patio. Outside, tables on the far edge next to the greenery are more private.
