What People Are Saying About The Vault Bar & Grill

In Short – Flames leap from giant torches, which nestle burbling fountains and overstuffed cushions on a starry patio. Inside, the glass-encased vault door of a defunct bank opens into a sophisticated sports bar with 18 huge HDTV flat-screens. Sleek, streamlined decor and a dramatic golden back-lit bar add dramatic ambience. A lively young crowd gathers for drinks and updated American and international food like filet mignon skewers and ahi tuna salad; entrees include steaks, pork chops and pastas and sushi.

A new and Improved Vault

This is an entirely new Vault! I had dinner here the other night, and the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was totally different. It brings the hip, trendy atmosphere of Old Pasadena, to East Pasadena. The Restaurant was filled predomently by groups of people having fun, with a couple of families sprinkled in there. Come to find out The Vault is under new ownership, and the new owner is a gentlemen, and really knows what he is doing. Best of all the prices are more then affordable.
Better than expected

Based on the reviews I had read, I was skeptical about this restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the decor, the food and the service. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. We asked him why the bad reviews and had the opportunity to give him some feedback about what we thought: ie. get rid of the dozen or so T.V's on the walls as it made the restaurant feel like an upscale sports bar. He said that the restaurant was going thru some changes to improve the image of the place and to draw a different group of customers. In my opinion there are plenty of places to watch loud sports and drink beer but few upscale places where you can walk in and get a good meal. I am looking forward to seeing the transformation he said he was working on for the restaurant.
- Pros: Yummy food, great service
- Cons: Sports bar atmoshpere
