A new and Improved Vault. This is an entirely new Vault! I had dinner here the other night, and the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was totally different. It brings the hip, trendy atmosphere of Old Pasadena, to East Pasadena. The Restaurant was filled predomently by groups of people having fun, with a couple of families sprinkled in there. Come to find out The Vault is under new ownership, and the new owner is a gentlemen, and really knows what he is doing. Best of all the prices are more then affordable.
Better than expected. Based on the reviews I had read, I was skeptical about this restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the decor, the food and the service. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. We asked him why the bad reviews and had the opportunity to give him some feedback about what we thought: ie. get rid of the dozen or so T.V's on the walls as it made the restaurant feel like an upscale sports bar. He said that the restaurant was going thru some changes to improve the image of the place and to draw a different group of customers. In my opinion there are plenty of places to watch loud sports and drink beer but few upscale places where you can walk in and get a good meal. I am looking forward to seeing the transformation he said he was working on for the restaurant.
Sunday Football. Never been here at night, but we're here Sunday watching football. There's no better place in Pasadena. No crowd, full games, and good food. They even have breakfast/Sunday special now. I would prefer to keep it small and secret, but I think they deserve a better rating than what they've got.
Management has definitely improved. I was very hestitant to return to this restaurant after a bad experience last year, but my friends were going for a birthday party on Friday night so I decided to go. First off, the manager is much better then previous ego-trip "if you don't like it then leave" attitude as mentioned before (new guy then before). He was very attentive to our table outside. The waitress was very cute and funny. Everything turned out great and I will be returning. I am glad it seems this place is improving on their staff.
Amazing Martini. I work down the street from The Vault and decided to take some collegues and clients in on a Wednesday evening for cocktails. The atmosphere was great for appetizers and drinks on the patio. Everyone was pleased as it was a nice get away from the traffic of old town down the road. Thanks for giving me a new place to go close to the office.
Great place to eat in South Pasadena!. Went on a Friday night for dinner, drinks, and dancing. Had 5 girls and 4 guys, no problems like metioned below. Good food and a great manager who come over several times to see how everything was. I will definitely be a return customer! I did see some people there who liked to complain a lot (you know the ones always looking for a freee meal) and the staff was nothing but nice and polite. I think they might be some of the people complaining below. Don't go out if you can't afford to pay for your food and drinks. Nothing is free! Awesome place.....
Don't even try if your curious. Prior reviews of "trashy" and "wanna be trendy" struck the nail on the head. I don't feel that I have to repeat everything negative said about this place except to say that it's all true. Unprofessional/ pretentious staff, bad food, poor service. Makes me wonder if any of the management/ staff have ever been to a nice place to see how an establishment like this SHOULD run. The management obviously were compelled to start this place based on the phrase "if you build it they will come" which unfortunately has been true because I live in Pasadena and it consistently looks crowded. Totally built to "seem" trendy but it just ain't. If you want to go out in Pasadena there's so many better places.
the best plase in east pasadena. we had the best experiance in the vault.good food, friendly staff.great plase to go to in pasadena.i hiely recomand the vault to enyone
Avoid unless you are desperate to go out and have a bad time.. The service was horrible. I went with a group of friend, mostly women and a couple of men. Although we wanted to eat, we got there late and the bouncers would not let our guy friends in with us (they were let in 20 mins later). Our server forgot her clothing and barely covered herself, which i would have ignored if she actually waited on us. My friend asked for water right after we sat and didn't receive any until we were about to leave. We had to ask three times for everything! We finally just started going to the bar to get drinks. After dinner we went inside to dance, but the music was awful. Worst I have ever heard. The only people who seemed to have a good time were the ones who were too intoxicated to notice what was going on.
