Favorite Pizza Place In Los Angeles – I randomly walked into this joint on La Cienega with a few friends. It seems like one of the owner/brothers always there. They also seemed to know most of the customers. I understood why the next time I came in. He remembered me, my friends and what we had the last time we were in. That would have been enough for me, but luckily the pizza is the best I have had since Italy. It is thin and made out of the wood-burning oven. Not overwhelming, but how pizza is should be. I cannot say enough about how much these guys seem to care about the success of the place, and making everyone seem like regulars.
Great pizza – The pizza here is top notch and the menu diverse. However, when it takes 30 minutes to get a class of wine you have to take the good with the bad.
It's worth it if you arrive early and aren't in a rush.
Citysearch Editorial Review – This spacious pizza joint on La Cienega is a popular destination for locals, sports fans and casual (and sometimes boisterous) celebrations. Wood and stone walls, red leather banquettes, auburn beamed ceilings and a spacious bar create a warm and inviting dining room. The open kitchen showcases a handsome wood-burning oven, while flat-screen TVs offer sports games, and a huge front patio hosts lively WeHo crowds who come for the famous wood-fired creations and bargain happy hour. The lengthy menu spans 14 sandwiches from pulled pork (the chef’s specialty) to proscuitto and brie, all served on fresh-baked bread. Other dishes include bacon-wrapped filet skewers, grilled artichoke, salads, smoked chicken fettuccine and Cajun pasta. Pizza fans swear by both the deep-dish Chicago-style pies and the 27 varieties of wood-fired pizzas--from traditional margherita and pepperoni to more modern shrimp pesto, proscuitto and arugula, and even vegan soy.
TERRIBLE SERVICE – Do not go here for anything but the pizza. The customer service at this place is PATHETIC. The owner is an ass and looks grungy and like he doesnt shower, and the staff thinks they are just "too cool" to help customers out. Very tacky.
The beer selection is pathetic. Typical washed up trailer trash beer selection. Plus the drinks are waaay overpriced.
Go for the pizza and thats it!
the best Pizza in the USA – Truly superior pizza, crunchy thin crust, the best toppings, cooked perfectly and priced right. The best Pizza I have ever tasted.
Dumbest hostess in Los Angeles – I know this is LA, but what the heck kind of hostess turns away customers in an empty restaurant? 40 minutes before tonight's Laker game, my girlfriend and I went into the restaurant to grab a pie. We and the couple before us were turned away by this half retarded hostess because "I'm not good at this, but people have reservations at 7:00 - the Laker's are playing." Does anyone in this town arrive on time? Is this girl serious? Seriously, if you are going to be that dumb, at least be good looking. Big thumbs down. Try Cube on La Brea or Mozza if you want good pie and good service.
BEST pizza in L.A.!!! – MUST try Stonefire, in fact, why go anywhere else!!! Really - the best deal is to go during their happy hour as all pizza's are half off. They are super good. Really thin, crispy crust.
Excellent Happy Hour! – Stone Fire Pizza has a terrific happy hour 7 days a week (featuring 1/2 price pizza and beer/wine - plus, on week days from 4-7, the appetizers are also 1/2 price). Just don't expect 'New York style pizza' because these guys are serving up a more eclectic style ... But the food is good and the prices can't be beat. Plus it's just a fun spot to chill w/ friends (with quite a few vegetarian options for all you non-carnivores)
The World's Worst Customer Service – Last night I was entertaining guests from Florida, and after a long day of sightseeing I took them to Stone Fire Pizza for dinner. I figured it'd be the perfect spot since I heard the food was good and we were dressed casually.
We were promptly seated at 9:00 p.m. for dinner, however, our server was nowhere to be found. She finally came by and took our drink order. We were pretty hungry, and so we ordered right away; artichoke appetizer, salad, and 2 pizzas.
Our woodfired pizza came out quickly, as our other deep dish would take 45 minutes. We were fine with that because they forewarned us. The issue started when they brought out an extra woodfired pizza. We told the busboy that he gave us an extra pizza which was not ours...so, he took it away. My fiancee saw our server and she started to attack him that the NY WHITE pizza was ours. He told her we only ordered a margherita and not a NY WHITE and then she pointed at me from a distance and said "SHE ORDERED IT." She then marched over to me and started yelling at me about ordering a NY White pizza. I told her that I knew for a fact that I didn't order it because I absolutely hate NY White style pizzas.
Also, the music is so deafeningly loud in the restaurant I can imagine that she probably just couldn't hear our order properly and made a mistake. I really didn't understand what the big deal was. But she wouldn't let it go and stormed off. This minor issue became huge because after that point we had NO SERVICE. She NEVER came by to refill drinks and she REFUSED to put an order in for dessert because apparently the kitchen was closing early.
What was most offensive is that the server was standing at the next table flirting with a table of 8 guys and completely ignoring us. Anyhow, she completely ruined our night and I'm bummed my guests had an awful time. I will never return to this establishment.
So many options! Great Pizza – I went with some friends and we just made it in time to put our orders in for happy hour. We got three different pizza's and they were all great. I tried the whole wheat crust and really liked it. It was really cheap, in a nice atmosphere and the food was great. I will definitely be back.
