Great Gym! Has Everything!. Meridian's in Pasadena is a great gym! They have all the classes and equipment you could possibly need and it is reasonably priced. You can mix up work-outs easily. In almost two years there has only been one time where I had to wait for a piece of equipment I wanted. The staff are friendly and always willing to answer questions and are helpful with suggestions (e.g. classes, instruction on equipment). I was paying almost double for an "upscale" gym up the street-It wasn't worth it. Thank you Meridians!!

cool people - poorly managed. This is a very low frills gym. I really liked the idea of joining an old school gym. Most of the equiptment is decent at best.

They really need to update their cardio machines. They obviously do not put a lot of stock into getting the latest and best equiptment for their clients.

The most challanging thing about this place is the current management is not very professional. They (she) runs the gym as if the members are her staff to manage as well.

Another disadvantage about this place is the lack of spinning classes. There is an amamzing instructor named NOEL that teaches there. His classes are always full and if you don't line up an hour before his classes, you will not get a bike. The managment team refuses to give him more classes or adjust some of the current classes that no one attends.

I think they need to pu the manager through a real management training program so she can develop the appropraite skills to manage people.

GREAT GYM, GREAT STAFF!!. THE GYM IS FUN! THEY HAVE GREAT INSTRUCTORS AND CLASSES. THEY ARE STARTING THEIR ZUMBA PROGRAM AND IM EXCITED! ;) THE STAFF IS ALWAYS FRIENDLY DONT LET THE REVIEWS CHANGE YOUR MIND ABOUT TRYING OUT THIS GYM. TRY IT ON YOUR OWN AND THEN JUDGE IT!! AND THE GENERAL MANAGER IRMA HAS ALWAYS BEEN FRIENDLY AND HAS ALWAYS HELPED WHEN I NEEDED HELP.

Loud gym, rude manager. I live right behind this gym and the noise level is very loud. Every time we have called the general manager has raised her voiced, yelled and/or hung up on us. She actually told me that this is just the way it is and there was nothing I can do about it. I am a member of this gym and know for a fact that they leave the windows open in the spin class. The one time we filed a noise complaint they started shutting the windows for 3 days and the noise was fine. I like the classes at the gym, but just the fact that the manager is so inconsiderate and rude makes may question my membership.

Misled by Irma Vargas. My wife and I visited Meridian’s Bodies in Motion January of 2009 in a New Years attempt to be more motivated to work out. We signed up and then went for our first workout in the Pasadena Club off Arroyo.

I wish I ‘d worked out first because I would have never signed. I mentioned this to Irma after finishing my 1st workout. She said that I should give it a chance and if I still felt the same that she would “work with me.” I thought that I might be over reacting so I told her that I would give it a chance and in a month I'd let her know what I thought. She said that if I have any issues to just come and see her.

So a month went by and I still didn't like the facility. Some it had to do with the atmosphere but most had to do with the old limited equipment that was biomechanically unsound. I just felt at this point that I was going to be less motivated to workout than I desired so I called Irma, on the phone, and we discussed how I was feeling and that I was still disappointed. Irma still insisted that when I made my decision that she would "work with me" to resolve everything. I took here for her word but didn't realize that she was being cunning and misleading with her choice of words, at least not yet.

So my wife, at this point, was still training with Adrian at the club so, instead of canceling before 30days I allowed the memberships to continue and the monthly to continue being deducted from our account.

I had stopped going to the facility for several months prior to the conclusion of my wife's training with Adrian in May of 2009.

Now I felt it was time. I was less fit than before signing up with Irma at Bodies in Motion and mentally it was taking a small toll on my self-perception and day-to-day "just feeling good."

My wife drove to the club and was told by Irma that there was no way out of the contract at this point. I then drove to the facility and talked to Irma myself, discussing what her and I had talked about the very first day and then just 30days after signing up about "working with me" when I made my decision.

Like anyone confronted with being misleading or just plain lying Irma bounced all around trying to tell me what she "really meant" when she said that she would "work with me". I reiterated that from the very 1st day I was unhappy but, I would give the facility a try noting, that Irma said on the 1st day, "that if I have any issues to come talk with her" and she will "work with me."

Irma insisted that there was nothing that she could do at this point and canceling the membership was not an option unless I could prove I was moving and would be 25 miles from the nearest affiliated facility.

I told Irma that if she would have told me on the very 1st day that I had to make a "clear cut" decision to stay or to cancel I would have canceled and walked away on day one, after my 1st workout.

I'm not sure even still what Irma meant when she said she'd "work with me"

But I do know now it had nothing to do with what she intended it to sound like.

So I’m still paying for a membership, that my wife and I will never utilize, until January 2010, which will be $704 dollars later.

I feel really stupid not walking away on day one and equally stupid that I trusted Irma Vargas.

I have not had work since March 7th 2009 and my wife and I are just barely getting by paying all our bills. Having to pay both of our monthly dues at a Health Club that neither of us are using and, at this point will not go back just because of the circumstances with Irma, really hits harder than it should.

Sincerely, Misled

some good, but a lot is disappointing. This gym has a lot of potential and unique attributes including kickboxing and spinning classes. You really do get motivated to work out in these classes! When I signed up I inquired specifically about the cancellation policy because I knew there was a chance I would be moving in the future. When I went to cancel, their story changed and they tried to charge me extra, though I did follow the policy and gave more notice than they originally requested. Angel was not very friendly or helpful with this matter and I had to dispute the ?extra? charge on my credit card. The staff there is sometimes friendly, but often chatting and laughing it up behind the counter ignoring their patrons. You?ve seen it before in many gyms - it is more of a ?social occasion? for them instead of a business focused on satisfying customers. I did have some great kickboxing and spinning instructors (yes the gym has potential). Some (just a few) of the weight lifting machines had some broken parts that were never repaired. Additionally, some of the kickboxing bags were not properly attached to the floor, and thus, made patrons' use of these particular bags very annoying and created a safety hazard. The staff does not focus any attention on the machines/equipment (including TV signals) or helping their patrons. After you join you feel as if you are on your own. I was told on my tour of the facility that the restrooms/shower area was kept extremely clean. This was not the case.

One warning about the classes: They are good once you know what you are doing and are in good enough shape to follow the instructors. For one example, in general, most people have no boxing or kickboxing experience, right? I was told the instructors would help me out in the classes since I was new. They really didn't help much. But after being there for a while I learned who the "good" instructors were and went to their classes---which I did enjoy very much.

Provide good, honest service, and patrons will stay.

Hot Trainers and Great Facility!. I love this gym! The people are so great and the staff is gorgeous to look at! The clients are so friendly and I always feel like I can relax and just workout. I don't feel like I have to "get dressed up" to workout here. The classes are awesome and they are what keep me going-I love breaking up my routine!

I'm really glad I joined Bodies in Motion. Not like everyone I see in LA, I needed help to get in shape...When I first moved to Pasadena, I went searching for a health club. I toured several of the local clubs and decided to join Bodies in Motion, and I?m so glad I did.

They have the most classes and the best instructors anywhere.

When I first started, the staff (Angel is so awesome!)spent a lot of time with me helping me to make sure that I felt comfortable. They made the transition into my routine as painless as humanly possible. For once I didn't feel out of place about going to the gym! And because of this, I go regularly and I'm seeing good results. This place is different and worth checking out if you feel uncomfortable about working out at gyms.

They have really helped me. Thanks Angel!

Not the typical snobby crowd.... It's a great gym in a nice location. The kickboxing classes are the best and if your looking for results their personal training staff kicks ass! Parking is a hassle during peak hours (5-7pm) but they offer complimentary valet parking...members are friendly and the staff (excluding one lady who always looked mad at the entire world!) is very cool! If your serious about your workout I highly recommend this place.
