mixed reaction. I ate here for the first time on Sunday, 5/18/08 for lunch with two friends. The place was highly recommended; it was rather disappointing. There was a long line and only one cashier. I wanted to eat light and healthy(er) so I ordered a special grilled chicken caesar salad w/drink and the cashier started to charge me about $2 too much. I caught it though and she corrected it. In spite of being overwhelmed, she was pleasant. The special was only $4.99 and it was apparent why when I got the bowl. It was really small and there were four small chicken strips sadly lain across the top of the salad. This was great for me as my appetite was small and would be great for those on a diet. But if you wanted fast food and more of it, you'd get more of your money's worth at Taco Bell. The caesar dressing was really good though. The salsa bar had been picked through and I could barely scrape together enough salsa for about half of one of those tiny salsa cups. My friends' lunches were something of a nightmare. They ordered whole or pieced grilled chicken which took far too long. When one friend went up, he was told (after 10 or 15 minutes) that they were out of grilled chicken and would they like fried chicken? One friend is on a diet and intentionally went there for the grilled chicken. He opted for a refund, which the manager said they couldn't do. What?! I'm almost done with my lunch at this time. They miraculously came up with some grilled chicken after more waiting. Then they ran out of napkins. Ever eat pieces of chicken without napkins? They didn't refill the salsa bar the entire time we were there. Overall, the food tastes good once you get it, and if you can get what you order.

Family dining restaurant chain serving chicken dishes and Latin-tinged sides in a bright, kid-friendly environment.. In Short
Founded in 1971 in Guatemala City, this family-dining franchise expanded into other Latin American countries before opening in Los Angeles in 2002. Today, the restaurant's signature chicken is gaining popularity in the United States. The menu offers fried and rotisserie chicken, Camperitos made from 100-percent chicken breast, sandwiches, salads and sides like fried plantains, spicy rice and pinto beans. For dessert, there's flan, rice pudding and soft ice cream.
